Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tiredmum, teaandcake, valiumredhead and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Oh good go thank goodness! Grin

Ds was soooooooo grumpy this morning, I nearly launched him into next week (as my mum used to say!) Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 21/03/2012 12:38

Hi all Smile

Gomummy so glad things are going ok with ds Smile

Hope you are all well, not to much to report here, anyone fancy coming to do my housework, I can pay you with cups of Brew and offer Biscuit's Grin

valiumredhead · 21/03/2012 13:37

Does anyone on the bench play piano? yanky?

Teaandcakeplease · 21/03/2012 14:02

Oh sure Tiredmum, you watch DS and I'll help Wink LOL

I used to play piano when I lived at home. So long ago now I wouldn't be surprised if I've forgotten tbh

valiumredhead · 21/03/2012 14:04

I need advice about digital pianos if you know anything about them? Did a thread in chat.

Teaandcakeplease · 21/03/2012 14:32

Oh gosh definitely not qualified to advise about that. I used a traditional piano. But I'll go and look.

gomummygo · 21/03/2012 18:19

I play piano Valium. I have a traditional piano but have used many digitals. I will look for your thread.

gomummygo · 21/03/2012 21:45

Have posted on your thread Valium. Yay for you, learning to play. It is a wonderful stress-reliever, and a tremendous form of self expression. Hope you're enjoying it.

valiumredhead · 22/03/2012 08:21

Thanks go I LOVE it! Grin I always wanted to play so started last summer, my lessons are my favourite part of the week :)

gomummygo · 22/03/2012 16:46

Means you must have a great teacher! :) You'll progress much more quickly when you're enjoying it. Pleased for you!

valiumredhead · 22/03/2012 16:57

Oh she's wonderful and very patient, she's never made me feel thick and even when I am really struggling she says very breezily ' Right, lets try something else and come back to it later!' Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 22/03/2012 20:56

Oh great tea if I had seen that earlier you woulda had a deal, but as it happens my house is now sparkling Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 22/03/2012 20:58

I used to play a bit of keyboard at school Valium, just used to teach myself, and write songs, that was a very long time ago Grin but it was a great thing I use to love it Smile

Teaandcakeplease · 23/03/2012 06:38

DS is in pre school after Easter 4 mornings a week from 9.15 to 1pm. What will I do with all that time to myself? Wink

valiumredhead · 23/03/2012 17:39

tea you THINK you will have lots of time but in reality you don't/ You'll spend the first week crying then enjoy the peace! Grin

I am so pissed off, I ordered a parcel yesterday to be delivered today and stayed in all day. Only just got an email saying it'll be delivered TOMORROW - we have plans! Ffs!

Teaandcakeplease · 23/03/2012 17:44

I won't cry. Heavens no. It'll be a relief after 2 and a half years of single parenting Blush And he needs it that boy Smile

What a pain about the parcel.

gomummygo · 23/03/2012 18:05

Piano teacher sounds great Valium! I bet you'll be coming along quickly with that kind of approach.

I bow down to your strength then Tea, I will be a blubbering wreck the day month DS goes to school for the first time! :( Blush Although I am not a single parent, DH is gone much of the time and has only ever had him by himself ONCE in four years. I cried the whole time. Since we don't have child care, we are together basically 24/7 and I think I will feel like I am missing a leg or something! I envision these random moments of panic thinking "where did he go????!" only to realize he is not there.

I bet you will spend the time catching up on all kinds of things! I work like a tazmanian devil when DS is finally asleep each night because there are just so many things I can't do with DS (ie. car repairs, some kinds of DIY, etc.)

But what you SHOULD do is sit down with a tea and a book and enjoy some much deserved R&R! :)

Teaandcakeplease · 23/03/2012 18:21

Ahh GoMummy your DS is a much longed for pfb. Mine is a cheeky DC2 who is like a Tasmanian devil round here Wink

gomummygo · 23/03/2012 20:23

Too right, Tea! Blush I shall never know the perspective of having a DC2.

I still hope you take some R&R time though! :)

Teaandcakeplease · 23/03/2012 20:26

17 month age gap and a divorce were a killer combo really. Wish DD had had more time with me before another DC. She's suffered for it often actually.

gomummygo · 23/03/2012 21:40

Must have been really tough for you to try to balance Tea.

Someday when she is old enough to imagine what a challenge two young DCs with a 17 month age gap and a divorce would be to get through, she is going to look at you in appreciation and awe for how well you've managed and say WOW, Mum.

gomummygo · 23/03/2012 22:59

Ok I am really sad now. And humbled. I was just having a nosy at this thread and ended up reading the whole thing.

And as scary as it is, you have a far better social support system in UK than we do here (imo, of course). It's just all very humbling. Perspective....

valiumredhead · 24/03/2012 10:57

I cried all week when ds went - I couldn't move off the sofa and I was desperate to have some 'me' time! Grin

SO warm here today! Must be 18 -20 :)

Teaandcakeplease · 24/03/2012 12:59

He already does 2 mornings a week, so he's going up to 4 days next. It has never upset me Confused
