Do you have a question you would really like to ask another Mumsnetter?

It would be nice to keep it friendly but lets see how it goes Grin

This may sound daft but I was thinking about the MNer with the pet Raven last week and I began to really fret about how she kept him safe from cats. I am too stupid to remember her her name though. Anyone know?

So my question is
Dear MNer with the Raven called Mortimer, How do you keep him safe from cats?

Thank you.

Stratters? She wears him on her shoulder at all times.

HTH.

Scoundrel · 01/01/2012 18:33

Is it sarah stratton with the raven? It's in a cage I think, so cats wouldn't be able to get to it.

Trills · 01/01/2012 18:34

I have a question - in what way is this an AIBU? :o

ThePathanKhansWitch · 01/01/2012 18:34

My question is to Vivipru, are you famous? Obviously i'm not trying to out you, (honest) a yes or no would be great. .

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/01/2012 18:36

I think you know the answer to that Trills Wink

Cos if I put it anywhere else it would be ignored and I am waaaaaay too needy for that Grin

I'd like to ask why so many people confuse Chat and AIBU.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 01/01/2012 18:36

sue ROFL, please tell me she has a wooden leg and a tat on her busom chest.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/01/2012 18:36

Does she REALLY wear him on her shoulder?
Oh how blissful....

I would imagine cat owners would have to keep their pets safe from the raven rather than then other way around. (Having been stalked and swooped upon by these huge black fuckers these large black birds.)

SuePurblybilt · 01/01/2012 18:40

She wears him on her left on Wednesdays, right the rest of the time. Stick breadsticks in her cleavage for him to snack on.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 01/01/2012 18:42

I do hope the breadsticks are organic.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/01/2012 18:55

You are teasing me now Sad

How I would love a pet raven to eat (organic) breadsticks out of my cleavage.

I didn't realise there was anything else on MN other than AIBU for ages. Maybe it's that.

cadelaide · 01/01/2012 18:58

Nooooo! Not in a cage?

I used to have a pet crow, Winston. He just sort of hung around. Far too clever to be caught by any half-wit cat.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/01/2012 18:58

No its not that.

Sue I thought she wore him in a sling on Saturday? Saturday's shopping day and carrying those trugs is difficult work.

LadyBeagleEyes · 01/01/2012 19:03

SarahStratton, Mrs DeVere, Mortimer is a a little star as is Sarah Grin

SarahStratton · 01/01/2012 19:14

Ohh good question. Grin

Mortimer has his own house, with a 6' run attached. He only goes in this at night (to keep him safe from foxes). The rest of the time he has free run of our garden.

The cats are terrified of him, they only ever venture into the garden once. A mistake that is not repeated. He also doesn't allow birds in his garden, particularly pigeons. He is very happy that Arabel has fucked off now. Oddly, there is one little dunnock that is allowed to go inside his house to pick up any missed crumbs. He watches it like a hawk, I think he may have adopted it as a pet.

He helps me with the gardening, and likes dismantling things. His current project is the wall edging the patio, he is removing all the loose mortar and using it as caches for spare food.

My wall smells. :(

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/01/2012 19:32

Thank you SS.
It all sounds delightful.

He's a bit big for my shoulder now. He does sit on it though, but if I'm sitting in the garden, he prefers to clamber up onto my lap. He likes his head being scratched, and his beard.

SuePurblybilt · 01/01/2012 19:40

Does he really? I made that up. I must be psychic. Shall I predict the end of the world or would you like a message from Beyond?

Actually Sarah where did you get him? Was he originally wild? We live near Cornwall and I went through a stage of wanting a chough but DP works in nature conservation and forbid it :( So I've tried persuading him to ttc as a second best....

ProfessorSunny · 01/01/2012 19:44

Why do you use Mumsnet? That is not meant in a "get a life" kind of way, I am genuinely interested.
