To hate incompetent drivers

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 21:50

Those who stop at a roundabout when it's clear, those who indicate on a roundabout and don't turn off, those who drive in in overtaking lanes when not overtaking, those who hit parked cars whilst parking, those who complain they can't see anything when they drive in the dark, yet still do it. Those who pull out in fromt of me so i have to break hard. Don't drive if you are incompetent, you are putting others lives at risk.

So you have never done anything in error ? Must be lovely to be so perfect

manticlimactic · 28/12/2011 21:51

Yy to the roundabouts...especially the mini ones. Do people not know you treat them the same as a bloody normal one!

CatPussRoastingByAnOpenFire · 28/12/2011 21:52

It must be hard being so perfect!

Serenitysutton · 28/12/2011 21:53

Don't be daft, what can you do after you've passed your test? Youre incompentent for at least the first year!

I think it would do a lot of people on this forum good to realise you can't control everything and in society you have to interact with all sorts of different people. They won't all please you. It's just life.

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 21:53

Don't be ridiculous, these are dangerous errors which you would fail your test for. No, I've never done any of these.

drive right up their arse then honk them alot to relieve angst, works for me Grin

pinkmagic1 · 28/12/2011 21:53

Agree with Gigondas must be lovely to be so perfect!

TooMaryBaubles · 28/12/2011 21:54

Those to whom the green light comes as a complete surprise whilst waiting at traffic lights - by the time they've checked the mirror/put the car into gear/released the handbrake and actually moved forward, the lights have gone red again. Grrrrrr!

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 21:56

It's not just life, or actually you are right, it is life, someone else's that you are endangering. Why do so many people think its acceptable to drive like a nonce? It's not hard, you just have to concentrate and follow the rules.

People who live in glass houses, should look for the beam in their own eye, before casting Nastirtiums about other people!

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 21:57

Can't believe you are having a jibe at being perfect when the alternative is hurting someone, driving should be taken seriously, or don't drive.

OP posts:
YusMilady · 28/12/2011 21:58

Astonished that so many think driving properly is somehow 'perfect' anything less is dangerous. If you can't do it, don't drive.

Gigondas · 28/12/2011 21:59

Nice for you weird fishes - lets hope your complacency doesn't come back and bite you on the arse

pinkmagic1 · 28/12/2011 21:59

I think the vast majority of drivers are good 99.9% of the time but I think absolutely everyone would be lying if they said they had never once made an error of judgement even the op!

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 21:59

yusmilady I agree. It's completely irresponsible to make mistakes that could be prevented.

OP posts:
WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 22:01

Well I hope it doesn't bite me either, but 15 years and no accidents.

OP posts:
Serenitysutton · 28/12/2011 22:03

Are you deliberatley being simple? Taking a test is nothing like driving alone in the real world. There is so much to take in, so little time to react... Do you not remember what it was like after you passed?

Gigondas · 28/12/2011 22:03

Concentrating and following the rules I agree with -also that do it properly . But the tone of your op was not saying that , it was being incompetent. And lumping a lot of quite general points together - some of which are stupid, some of which arent (yes stopping at roundabout when clear is daft and you should be looking ahead to know its clear but if alternative, to go when not sure of clear road isn't a slow down or stop better).

I am not sure I would say everyone who say hit a parked car whilst parking (stupid though this is) should never drive again .

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 22:04

Hitting a parked car is not stupid ??????

OP posts:
YusMilady · 28/12/2011 22:05

Why be satisfied with pisspoor driving though? It's not like applying nail polish. You get it wrong, people die. If you regularly 'make mistakes' or have near misses, you should book yourself some refresher lessons or get off the bloody road.

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 22:06

I saw a woman hot someone's car in tesco today while parking ( not sure how) and she couldn't give a shit... Just pretended it didn't happen.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 28/12/2011 22:07

What part of "stupid though this is" re parked car did you miss weirdfishes? Do I think that should mean people lose their licence - no

Serenitysutton · 28/12/2011 22:07

I can't believe there are people who don't understand good driving comes with experiance. You can't be taught it. You can only be taught how to operate the car and the rules of the road (which might explain people who stop at clear roundabouts, they've been taught too)

Gigondas · 28/12/2011 22:08

I would agree with that yusmiludy - but that level of self awareness and discipline unusual.

WeirdFishes · 28/12/2011 22:08

It's selfish and stupid and quite frankly scares me that do many idiots are driving.
