To hate incompetent drivers

Those who stop at a roundabout when it's clear, those who indicate on a roundabout and don't turn off, those who drive in in overtaking lanes when not overtaking, those who hit parked cars whilst parking, those who complain they can't see anything when they drive in the dark, yet still do it. Those who pull out in fromt of me so i have to break hard. Don't drive if you are incompetent, you are putting others lives at risk.

By the way. hats off to all those drivers who saved my life with their driving skills in my first few days in my first car on my own.

Absolutely geekette. I relied heavily on other drivers expertise when I first started, they certainly couldn't rely on me!

"you said i clearly don't understand how to drive carefully. That statement simply warrents an 'eh?

And you implied that I was a dangerous driver for not taking it for granted that an indicating car will turn off - despite this being as advised in the highway code. The truth is, in fact, that if you have to rely on another driver telling you what is going to happen (e.g. indicating) and do not use your judgement and common sense then you are the unsafe driver.

nope, I didn't imply that at all, I simply made a joke about not believing an indicator incase it's a mumsnetter having one of their mistakes :)

for what it's worth I believe an indicator means one thing only - that the electrics are working. so there ;)

But seriously, everyone should make sure that they are safe to be on the road. Don't drive when you are angry or ill and most of all, anticipate other drivers at all times. Keep away from the nutters (If you can) and please, please don't hog the middle lane of motorways if the left hand lane is clear.

Advanced driving is not expensive but it sorts out your bad habits and is worth doing. Just wish people would stop thinking passing the test means that they are OK to drive. It just means that you are safe on your own, but not all the time, the first few years are a steep learning curve.
You have to remember that you are driving a weapon that can kill people.
