use a web address as a statement

I'm tired dot com!! No you're just fucking tired why put .com on the bloody end.

Does anyone else hate this and if so what's the most cringe worthy example you have heard.

squeakytoy · 06/11/2011 18:50

The most cringeworthy had to be Alexandra Burke on XFactor last week. She made a total twat of herself with that.

Clossaintjacques · 06/11/2011 18:51

What did she say?

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 06/11/2011 18:52

she did a "talk to the hand" gesture to Louis Walsh, and then said "ok dot. com"

Clossaintjacques · 06/11/2011 18:54

CRINGE

Could someone enlighten me to why people do it?

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 06/11/2011 18:55

I have never heard anyone except Alexandra Burke use it.

But I used arf.com on here to tease getorfmoiland. But she didn't laugh and probably thinks I am a massive tat now. Taking the piss is a risky business on here.

ramblinrose · 06/11/2011 18:55

YANBU
It's silly

JamieComeHome · 06/11/2011 18:56

I have never heard anyone do it. I would probably think less of them if I did.

catsareevil · 06/11/2011 18:57

I opened this thread expecting to disagree with you, but you are entirely correct. I dont know why people do it, It might have been vaguely amusing the first time someone did it, but I think that was probably about 10 years ago and it hasnt been funny since.

GetOrfMo1Land · 06/11/2011 18:57

My daughter's latest is hashtag.

So if someone is doing something stupid she will say 'hashtag loser'

Or if someone is wearing something dodgy it will be 'hashtag fashion princess'

It drives me nuts

Clossaintjacques · 06/11/2011 18:57

Grin pagwatch

OP posts:
LadyBeagleEyes · 06/11/2011 18:57

I decided to use ok.com on a thread after seeing it on the X Factor, but I don't think anybody got it.
I was being ironic Grin

I don't know what a hashtag is. Is it something to do with drugs?

MenopausalHaze · 06/11/2011 18:58

The only time it was ever funny was when Nan Taylor (Catherine Tate) used it as in

"You're too fucking late.com"

That must have been five years ago! Time, I think, for a new gag!

GetOrfMo1Land · 06/11/2011 18:58

No I did laugh pagwatch, didn't I acknowledge you? Blush

I am sorry, I laughed out loud at arf.com, and used it in a PM since Grin

I can't imagine the curled lip my dd would give me if I said arf.com to her, though Grin

exoticfruits · 06/11/2011 18:58

I have never come across it.

mycatsaysach · 06/11/2011 18:59

but i like cringy

Clossaintjacques · 06/11/2011 18:59

OMG getorf that is so awful

OP posts:
GetOrfMo1Land · 06/11/2011 18:59

I used to think that hashtag was something druggy.

It is something to do with twitter, I don't really get it.

Pagwatch · 06/11/2011 18:59

hahaha at massive tat

WTF is a massive tat?

I am just a big cock monkey all over this thread

JamieComeHome · 06/11/2011 18:59

Don't start with the and the boak. Some people hate that

MenopausalHaze · 06/11/2011 19:00

Hashtag is Twitter isn't it? I think Twitter is way way beyond the wrong side of wanky but maybe that's just me being a curmudeongly old fuck?

GetOrfMo1Land · 06/11/2011 19:00

Mind you I can't bloody talk.

If me and dd are out together, and say we see something funny like someone falling over, instead of actually laughing, we look each other and say LOL.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/11/2011 19:00

whatever...dot COM Wink

JamieComeHome · 06/11/2011 19:00
