He's blaming my house-keeping but I'm working full time just as he is and personally think housework should be a joint responsibility! Not just mine! I said he should help me with the housework and put his stuff where he can find it again and not rely on me as if I'm his mother. AIBU?

Please tell/describe OP.

Salmotrutta · 07/10/2011 13:41

Tsk Justin - pay attention. It's Elfin Safety!

Grin this thread is brightening up my afternoon.

YANBU OP - it is not your fault if your DH has lost his piano wig. He should have left it on the special piano wig stand. I assume you have a special wig stand.

MyMelody · 07/10/2011 13:46

tbh you are BOTH BU - surely ANYONE who plays the piano has a piano wig stand next to the piano where piano wig is kept safely at all times so these sort of mishaps cannot occur, you and your dh both need to up your game if you are to be taken seriously as piano players imo

MyMelody · 07/10/2011 13:47

My grandma is incredibly health and safety aware. If it were a safety issue to wear a wig whilst playing piano I'm sure she would have started wearing one long ago!

TheVermiciousKnid · 07/10/2011 13:49

Is he wearing it?

A piano wig is indeed necessary safety equipment. All those sharp notes can do an awful lot of damage.

RedRubyBlue · 07/10/2011 13:51

The wall was repainted so that was okay but Sharon was a bee-yatch, she has the piano wig.

MyMelody · 07/10/2011 13:52

if you are going to do a job, do it properly i say - GET A WIG STAND
some people!

Inertia · 07/10/2011 13:53

I think you need to have a word with The Keeper Of The Household Wigs. He might have taken it for re-powdering.

onceagain · 07/10/2011 13:56

This is my piano piano wig and I think you'll agree I look rather fetching in it. Particularly when playing rachmaninov.
I keep it in a cage next to the baby grand.

tabulahrasa · 07/10/2011 14:00

What does a piano wig protect you against? and how?

Do all musical instruments have wigs?

stepawayfromtheecclescakes · 07/10/2011 14:03

no but DS recorder has a moustache

RedRubyBlue · 07/10/2011 14:07

Thread killer!

NorfolkNChance · 07/10/2011 14:10

Nah it's here

limitedperiodonly · 07/10/2011 14:18

salmotrutta don't forget your trousers with the cymbals tied to the inside of each knee.

limitedperiodonly · 07/10/2011 14:22

My mum had a wig she used to keep on a polystyrene model of a woman's head.

Its blank eyes were very scary and didn't improve much when I felt-tipped them in.

My mum had no need of a wig, being neither bald nor musically gifted, but they were very fashionable in the '70s.

onceagain · 07/10/2011 14:35

limitedpeiod are you my sister? my mum also had one of those and my sister coloured in the eyes. I added the lipstick Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 07/10/2011 14:41

RedRubyBlue those pictures are horrible Am going to have nightmares about them.

Not sure I will ever be able to wear my piano wig again (even though She is far less scary than the wigs you just linked to)

Salmotrutta · 07/10/2011 15:14

Now then, where were we?

I think Sharon The Biatch did steal the wig. Either that or a seagull nabbed it for it's nest.
Does your DH wear a Police Officers uniform a lot OP?

I'm fairly sure that's a serious offence

Salmotrutta · 07/10/2011 15:14

Officer's.

BibiBatsberg · 07/10/2011 15:23

I'm in stitches here - violin socks, bassoon glove and the mental image of the OP and her DH donning their special wigs before tinkling the ivories Grin

I might amuse myself around the shops in a bit, earnestly enquiring where I might find their piano wig section....

Salmotrutta · 07/10/2011 15:29

BibiBatsberg - thats why I went up the town. Grin
