To absolutely hate horse manure on the road.

I practically followed the manure home this evening. Dotted along the country roads and into the housing estate. (?)
If you ride, do you go back and shovel it up afterwards or leave it? They leave it here. :(

hahahahahahahahaha

YABU

Jog on

usualsuspect · 29/09/2011 21:23

I hate it too ,but we are in the minority on MN

HoneyPablo · 29/09/2011 21:24

YABU
Your car is much much worse, spweing it's poison into the atmosphere.
Do you collect your exhaust fumes or do you leave them to destroy the ozone layer?

Disclaimer- I don't even have a horse

usualsuspect · 29/09/2011 21:25

It smells lovely apparently

BatsUpMeNightie · 29/09/2011 21:26

I don't have a horse either but I really do object to this kind of nonsense. What does the OP think? That the horse shit is going to morph in the night into plasma clouds of noxious excreta and shit in her Tesco bags?

usualsuspect · 29/09/2011 21:27

NO but its not nice to have to dodge shit really is it?

5Foot5 · 29/09/2011 21:29

I imagine there would be no shortage of people wanting to rush out and shovel it up for their garden

worraliberty · 29/09/2011 21:30

How the buggery would anyone know if their horse had shit? And if they did have a clue, are they supposed to park the horse at the nearest parking meter while they get the carrier bag and shovel?

Honestly, horse shit, cat shit, fox shit and bird's shit....it's all part of life and always has been.

Not worth getting your knickers in a knot over.

Andrewofgg · 29/09/2011 21:30

What a load of crap.

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 29/09/2011 21:30

Yes. Because standing in the road shovelling a big pile of shit up is perfectly safe Hmm

I don't have a horse either!

usualsuspect · 29/09/2011 21:33

You can't diss the horseshit on MN ,thems the rules

piratecat · 29/09/2011 21:33

oh god. such awful things that happen in this world.

at least horse poo is grass.

Andrewofgg · 29/09/2011 21:34

So is all flesh, or so we are told.

CristinadellaPizza · 29/09/2011 21:34

Didn't we do this thread last week? Confused

I love it, it smells fab :)

carabos · 29/09/2011 21:35

at the thought of going back to pick it up! And put it where? In the car boot for a mobile compost? Don't be daft, its gone in a few hours because birds love to pick over it, cars run over it, dogs eat it, rain washes it away. Its biodegradable, environmentally friendly and consists of reconstituted vegetable matter - in other words, its really just grass. Horses are vegetarian and clear their digestive tract continually, dropping on average every hour or so. YABU.

cazboldy · 29/09/2011 21:36

i don't go back and pick it up, but why are you having to dodge it? is it on a path? i don't ride on paths....

fluffywhitekittens · 29/09/2011 21:37

Think yourself lucky you don't live in my house.
There is a stables round the corner and always horse poop on our road.
And a horse kicked my car door once.

CristinadellaPizza · 29/09/2011 21:38

Maybe some people think horses should wear nappies?

usualsuspect · 29/09/2011 21:39

That sounds like an excellent idea tbh

carabos · 29/09/2011 21:42

because we all know how environmentally friendly nappies are...Hmm

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 29/09/2011 21:42

Oh FFS, get a grip!

Allboxedin · 29/09/2011 21:45

I love horse manure, Its so much nicer than dog or cat shite.
It makes me feel healthy and rosy cheeked.

usualsuspect · 29/09/2011 21:46

How can you love shit? yuk

Allboxedin · 29/09/2011 21:49

Its special shite, not just any old shite. Why live in the country if you can't live alongside a horses contribution to the atmosphere. I live in horrible smelly old London and would much rather that than the stink of petrol fumes and curry.

CristinadellaPizza · 29/09/2011 21:49

Horse shit smells nice. It's like cow shit but doesn't go through seven stomachs first. It smells like mown grass with a soupcon of a darker more musky note.

I like burying my head in horses' necks and breathing in lots too so I'm probably a bit biased :o
