Fantastic news! So pleased for you!

You can imagine we were like nervous wrecks the first time Harry Potter went out after her little disappearing act. In fact I think it was weeks before dh didn't try and watch her every move in the garden via binoculars from an upstairs window :) But, touch wood, so far we've had no problems and she regained her confidence pretty quickly after a quiet few days in the house.

Such a relief, well done that cat.

lambethlil · 08/06/2011 07:15

Great news. Is it ok now to link to this poster?

EmmaBemma · 08/06/2011 07:27

oh, this is fab news! I was scared to click on this thread when I saw it back near the top of the list in case it wasn't good news... so glad I was wrong.

piahigsy · 08/06/2011 07:56

Yay so pleased he is back! I would scribble found on a couple of posters. A lovely cat that used to come and visit us and my cat suddenly appeared on missing posters :-( I often wonder if he was ever found :-(

Our little girl was missing for about a week. We put posters up on every street junction within a 300metre radius (we googled how far we could expect a female city cat to roam and used that as our search basis - male cats have a larger roaming territory). It was a week later that we got a call from some guy who'd seen her in his garden just on the edge of the 300m radius - we're presuming she got scared by some fireworks and ran off, getting herself lost in the process and unable to find her way back. There's no reason to presume the worst, the same might have happened to your cat. He may have been frightened by something (big scary dog barking at him or who knows what) and ran off only to realise he then didn't know where he was or how to get back.

Make sure your posters have a picture of him, people will get more info from being able to see him rather than being expected to stop and read a description (which sadly I guess most people won't). And make sure you put those posters up EVERYWHERE - we made sure whichever way people came down the street and no matter what side they were on there'd be a poster for them to see. The most useful thing would be putting them within your local area as this is where he's most likely to be. Also I was told a good tip that if you go round walking about 3 or 4am you will see a LOT of cats round about that time, and maybe you'll see yours?

Good luck in your cat hunting, I hope you find him. And you're definitely not being unreasonable for being upset about it btw, pets are part of the family.

He's back DizzyKipper!! But that is good advice for anyone else missing a pud.

ScoobyDoosMum · 08/06/2011 08:21

YAAAAAY! I was hoping this was the reason I noticed this thread back in active convos! GREAT NEWS Smile

FreudianSlipper · 08/06/2011 08:34

fantastic news :o

Whippoorwhill · 08/06/2011 08:38

So glad he came home OK. We lost ours for a couple of weeks and he turned up, shut in a neighbours garage.

Please go and write 'found' on the posters that are up. When I see lost posters I always worry about whether they ever turned up and would love to see that one had a happy ending.

SarahLundsredJumper · 08/06/2011 09:11

wineandcheese · 08/06/2011 10:02

SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!

Nullius · 08/06/2011 10:32

Ah CRS - so glad it was a happy ending!! See I hoped it would turn out like mine, he might have been scared or he might have been visiting some neighbours who took a shine to him.

And yes mine was grounded too!

passiveaggresive · 08/06/2011 10:42

FANFECKINGTASTIC!!!! Soooo pleased he has come back and fit and healthy too, wahhooo.

Just a note of caution, if he is looking sleek and fit and fed, it could be that some kind person mad cat lady has taken him for a stray and started feeding him. My mother does this Blush so your cat may well wander back to the other resturant if he gets a bit peckish.

I suggest you buy him a new collar and stick a name tag on it, just to make the point that he isnt a stray, he is just a naughty boy who doesnt come home at bedtime!

TakeMeDrunkImHome · 08/06/2011 10:45

Oh good news CRS - glad you didn't give up hope and have your furry bugger back :-)

Mine also came back this morning at 5 am crying so loudly in the street that it woke me up! He is thin and limping on both front paws and nervous but back!

Onemorning · 08/06/2011 15:21

YAY! :o

CRS, I've had a shit day today, and this has really cheered me up. I'm so happy your naughty feline is back.

CRS · 08/06/2011 18:05

Thanks everyone - I'm really glad yours is back too TakeMeDrunkI'mHome! Hope s/he will be OK.

I put Found on the posters, not sure have done all as partner and son put some up, but it's only a small village so expect people will see.
