to let MN decide which house we buy?

To cut a long boring story short, we are now stuck deciding between two houses. DH knows which one he wants; I need more opinions...

House A is on the road we currently live on, the Nicest in the Villaaage, all leafy etc
House B is on the second nicest road, nearer the Main Road

House A is a 4 bed semi
House B is detached, 5 bed

House A has a big back garden and a small drive
House B has a very big front garden (because it's a southfacing plot) and a huge drive

House A is pretty and Victorian
House B is a bit less pretty and Edwardian

House A would mean keeping our lovely neighbours
House B may well have lovely new neighbours

House A costs x
House B costs x plus £25k

Any thoughts?

How big is the back garden for house B?

I'm massively leaning towards the 5 bed detached with the big drive - you'll never have to move again

i'd go for House A

I like A but then I have always been a sucker for Victorian houses.

House A ...dont mess with "might" have nice neighbours ...i couldnt care less if i lived in a 50 bedroom house ,if i had shit neighbours id sooner swap it for a 1 bedroom flat with nice neighbours .....Can u tell i have had past issues with neighbours ??

House A is cheaper and may be smaller but it sounds lovely :)

House A sounds better to me, but peace and quiet, a huge garden, and good neighbours are important to me.

Laurie - it's big enough for a shed, rotary line, some shrubs, patch of lawn. It's just north facing so pretty dark. There's also a garage on the west side of the house, and a veg patch there that gets sun from west and south

house A quality over quantity for me every time. Also by the sounds of things you love it. Best of Luck

Which can you afford and how many in the family? if you have or are planning a large family then obviously bigger is better but not if you struggle to pay the mortgage/bills

Also, reading between the lines you have described house A more positively so maybe you're leaning that way?

If one room would be a spare room in house b, go for house a and have a clear out

House B. It's similar to my house here

That's also for sale. Buy mine so I can move.

House B because you have the privacy of the surroundings, you're off the main road, and Georgian houses provide better interiors.

I think having a large front garden would be impractical.

They are both lovely but that aerial shot of the detached with all the green is fab!

For me it's always detached - doesn't matter so much about the neighbours then

Remember, some arse could still move next door to you in the semi.

Edwardian is ok, but Victorian interior beats that.

It looks like it's further away, with the surroundings. Just a nicer looking house, then again I can't see inside.
