I have been going to swimming lessons with ds for 8 weeks. We have one man in the group who stands at the end of the line and I stand next to him (being quite tall I like to stand in the deeper water) We say hello and do small talk
Three weeks ago I notice on getting out he has an erection I get a bit flustered and give him a smile and I am sure he saw me looking at it
Yesterday he had an erection as well
AIBU to be a little spooked out by this?
DH says sometimes they have a mind of their own and being in a pool with 7 women might just bring it to life

haha, is he in speedos or swimming shorts?! Hard not to look when in speedos!

No I would be freaked. Even if it does have a mind of it's own he should wait until it's gone down before he gets out. He is an adult not a teenager and more than able to control it by now. He is obviously getting a kick out of you seeing it. Perv!

"DH says sometimes they have a mind of their own and being in a pool with 7 women might just bring it to life"

or perhaps it's the children causing it.

either way, it's not nice at all.

I have been a regular swimming my whole life and I have NEVER seen a man with an erection in or at the pool

Nipples get erect when cold, men penis's shrink with cold so entirely different things.

nooooooooooo!

only if you're 14, surely??

even then, not at a baby swim thing, now let's get baby to catch the ducky, come on, baby, come on mummies, let's sing, cue mummies singing in their delightful fluting high pitched voices???

Hmm

Erections are natural bodily functions

He could have needed a piss

Changing2011 · 07/04/2011 10:59

He might just have that large wily/small trunk combo problem.

Our swimming pool is quite cold and my nipples stick out too. I wonder if he was just responding to that and he did look a little embarrassed when I first noticed it

That is fucking disgusting. He is obviously getting some kind of thrill from it all. Yuk

Scarlett - how do you know that? Jesus chist on a bike!

Im sure he is not rampant at the nipp-age either Hmm

LaurieFairyCake · 07/04/2011 11:04

It is not obvious at all that a sexual thrill is being derived

It's common to get them on buses and trains because of the movement. Or indeed when doing no thinking about sex and reading a very boring politics book.

It is perfectly common to get them in pools and saunas as the blood is being heated.

Common, normal, and Fuck all to do with sex.

I swim regularly and I've never seen this either, including in swimming clubs with plenty of men in them, so it must be something that it is possible to avoid. As a grown adult, you would expect him to be aware of this and perhaps stay in the water until no-one is looking or wear looser fitting swimwear. I wonder why he favours swimming lessons in an otherwise all female group?

Report
SmethwickBelle · 07/04/2011 11:06

Bit odd, but I'd be giving him the benefit of the doubt as long as he does actually have a child with him and isn't just some random man standing in the circle joining in.

Taking my two swimming yesterday my 16 month old was climbing up my costume as I held him in the water, so I spent quite a long time with both tits actually exposed, albeit mostly under the water...

Halternecks are rubbish.

He cannot stay in the pool because whe have 30 min lessons and the next group is ready to get in when we have finished.
He is a SAHD that is why he comes to the lessons

Laurie, I don't know how much experience you've had with men or if you've got any brothers but men don't get erections when they need a piss, they get bladder urgency.

"or perhaps it's the children causing it."

OP was describing a man's reaction to speaking with her and you immediately thought of sex with children?...

Yes and sometimes the feeling of the bladder pressing against prostate encourages them

And I also meant that he may have had to get out the pool to have a piss even with the erection

Plenty of experience with erections as a former nurse thanks.
