Men,Erections and swimming lessons

I have been going to swimming lessons with ds for 8 weeks. We have one man in the group who stands at the end of the line and I stand next to him (being quite tall I like to stand in the deeper water) We say hello and do small talk
Three weeks ago I notice on getting out he has an erection I get a bit flustered and give him a smile and I am sure he saw me looking at it
Yesterday he had an erection as well
AIBU to be a little spooked out by this?
DH says sometimes they have a mind of their own and being in a pool with 7 women might just bring it to life

Perhaps he is just a bit 'fuller' than you are used to seeing?

Valium are you suggesting the OP's Husband has a tiny todger? Wink

RitaBix · 07/04/2011 11:29

We get out in a line and him being behind me climbs out after me I was wrapping my towel round ds and he came walking towards me
I was crouched down and as I stood up to let him by I noticed it. I did not look on purpose and he didnt flaunt it at me

Poor bloke. Sorry but this is prurient perv-hunting. Erections are spontaneous and unpredictable. As others have said, don't look in that direction if you're going to get flustered.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/04/2011 11:30

A campaign against cock?

I wouldn't want to be part of that Wink

valiumredhead · 07/04/2011 11:31

OP so no one else noticed? If a man had a boner EVERYONE would see it!

Saltatrix · 07/04/2011 11:32

Random erections can happen at any age at anytime the man involved does not even need to be aroused in any way for it to be erect at times.

Are you even sure it was an erection? if it was how is it only you saw it? he might be big guy. Also do you think he was standing at the end of the line because he had an erection and wanted to be out of sight.

CurrySpice · 07/04/2011 11:32

So you were directly at crotch level, leering at his cock? :o

Poor bloke doesn't stand a chance :o

thinNigella · 07/04/2011 11:32

It's you, not the children, right?

ShatnersBassoon · 07/04/2011 11:33

I agree with Valerie. One of the other women would have said something as soon as you were all in the changing room. Probably something like 'Poor bloke, did you see his roadkill? Let's try not to look next week, don't get hysterical, and definitely don't mention it on an internet forum'.

ShatnersBassoon · 07/04/2011 11:34

I agree with Valium, I mean.

I agree with tiffany and changing really feel and worry for DS as men are so often branded pervs or weirdos for things like this it's a NORMAL body function same as any other.
It can happen at any time regardless of age.
It could be a sideeffect of medication he might be taking for something completely unrelated.
SAHDs must feel so isolated and we wonder why there are still not equal opportunities for men and women.
Men are judged for working all the hours god sends for not spending time with kids
Or they are judged for vein. SAHDs if they dare take their kids to "mother n toddler" swimming etc
We should be welcoming these dads as much as we would any new mum trying to do the best for their kids

HowsTheSerenity · 07/04/2011 11:38

And all the peado comments are why men will not become teachers, help lost children, or take them own kids to swimming lessons. You do not look at women with stiff nipples and think she is a paedo do you? No, so why think the man is. I do feel sorry for men when people jump to conclusions like this. Most sexual abuse cases are caused by friends or relatives. Are you going to stop you DC's swimming with GP or DB in case they get a stiffy?

thinNigella · 07/04/2011 11:39

It is not the same thing IMO, men don't appear aroused by cold water. I would not be going to those swimming lessons again.

TotemPole · 07/04/2011 11:39

Does it really look like a dead hedgehog?

Changing2011 · 07/04/2011 11:42

well if my gorgeous DH went to swimming classes I bet all the nipples would be like chapel hat pegs cos he is one dude who looks hot in trunks. Grin

worraliberty · 07/04/2011 11:42

I think the pool should have a slogan on the wall for the Mums....

"If you don't like his erection, don't look in his direction" Grin

Blu · 07/04/2011 11:43

For goodness sake, enlarged blood vessels in the penis do not signify that a man is either a pervert, a rapist, or a paedophile. The OP didn't even say it was a childrens' swimming lesson.
This may come as a shock to some of you, but the man on the bus, the man in the queue in the supermarket, the teacher in front of your kids' class, your dentist, the newsreader on TV, the RAC man, your own DH/P when at his desk at work may all have an erection at any given time.

And the famed 'morning glory' is frequently because a first thing in the morning piss is required!

And if he does find himself physically affected by being in a pool with skimpily clad women, so what? Multiple posts and threads on MN demonstrate that women often ogle at men and have innocent little sexual fantasies about the men they come across in their daily lives - how are men 'perverts' deserving of being complained of to the pool attendant, with consequent humilliation, in comparison?
you are the parent of boys they will have teenage moments when their erection does indeed appear to function independently - how would you feel if your poor boy was humiliated and cast as a sexual menace and pervert - peadophile, even, in a public pool?

Get a grip and act like grown up women.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 07/04/2011 11:44

liberty PMSL at your slogan let's start a campaign to get the slogan in all pools gyms etc Grin

Blu · 07/04/2011 11:45

And here's another thought: he may even be gay, and be a sahd in a 2-dads household. It isn't always all about you.

worraliberty · 07/04/2011 11:45

Sir Trevor McDonald may have had a stiffy while reading the News at Ten? Shock

{feeling violated emoticon}

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 07/04/2011 11:46

Very well said blu

its very sad for men......threads like this leave me sad

and i have more reason than most of you to be wary as we are in middle of a police investigation with my dd (not my troublesome one,her sister!!) and a paedophile! i wont know what this man has done yet til june, but i still dont see every man as a potential offender!
