shinyshoes · 06/03/2011 11:39

absolutely, just lemon for me. Wink

We have them instead of a meal, people think i'm wierd, this is the norm non??

worraliberty · 06/03/2011 11:39

I can't stand them but yes I'll be making the crepe style ones with the kids.

Lemon and sugar is the only topping they like..though the dog gets most of them as they tend to drop off the ceiling after they've been flipped!

StealthPolarBear · 06/03/2011 11:39

yes :) sweet only
Have got chocolate sauce for DS as a treat

pippitysqueakity · 06/03/2011 11:41

No, twill be wed as party on Tue...

MissQue · 06/03/2011 11:41

Yes, we've got golden syrup mmmmm

diddl · 06/03/2011 11:43

Yes-with a choice of orange juice, maple syrup or chocolate sauce.

I also do them instead of a meal.

If the children don´t eat enough to fill them up, that´s their problemGrin

CardyMow · 06/03/2011 11:43

Yes, even though it is DD's birthday on Tuesday - we are having homemade lasagne for dinner (DD's choice), Pancakes for pudding as it's Shrove Tuesday, and then birthday cake.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 06/03/2011 11:44

That'll be a hell yes. Think DS rates pancake day up there with Christmas..

diddl · 06/03/2011 11:44

It´s also Women´s Day, on Tues, isn´t it?

onadifferentplanettoday · 06/03/2011 11:45

No in my 6.30am state last Tuesday my two ds conned me that it was pancake day and I crawled out of bed and made them pancakes before school before they admitted it wasn't until this week but they were really nice so now I could make them before school more often! I was easily conned the pancake making stuff had been in the shops for weeks!

5inthebed · 06/03/2011 11:48

Yes, with lemon and sugar for me and jam for the DC.

They don't share my passion for lemon and sugar :(

StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 06/03/2011 11:51

Ham and cheese.

Nothing comes close.

JoBettany · 06/03/2011 11:52

We had them this morning for breakfast as my DS will be at his dad's on Tuesday.

We had the crepe style pancakes (I didn't even ruin the first one!) with chocolate spread and strawberries.

Hassled · 06/03/2011 11:52

I'm crap at pancakes - am a fairly competent cook but get into a right tizz with pancakes. By the time I'm done I'm usually furious. But it's usually maple syrup in this house.

stream · 06/03/2011 11:53

Yes! With lemon, lime orange and sagar. Can't wait. Grin

stream · 06/03/2011 11:54

sugar

JoBettany · 06/03/2011 11:54

I am usually crap too so was pretty amazed at how well it went today!

midnightservant · 06/03/2011 11:55

I used to do the 'just pancakes' for a meal when DC were younger, but always felt a bit guilty! Thank you MNs for restrospectively making me feel better.

As mood fluctuates didn't always manage to do proper Pancake Day over the years, but did have random pancake days IYSWIM.

Now they are grown but not flown. Tuesday's meal plan: pancakes stuffed with bolog, in chees sauce (made pancakes for this yesterday and they are in the freezer), followed by fresh made pancakes with sugar, lemon, jam or whatever.

Golden syrup for me :)

vintageteacups · 06/03/2011 11:58

We have them most Saturday/Sunday mornings anyway and with after school clubs etc, it's less stressful doing them at the weekend.

However, if I'm being a really good mummy, I might try and make a batch and then pop into microwave Tuesday night.

waitwhat · 06/03/2011 12:02

We are doing pancake day today as everyone is busy on Tuesdays here.
I don't make them though as they always turn out shite.

Just lemon and sugar here too- yum

ReshapeWhileDamp · 06/03/2011 12:02

Yes. Yum. Smile

AIBU to ask why this is in AIBU? It appears to be a perfectly reasonable stance to me - pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. Wink

pranma · 06/03/2011 13:22

Yep-at lunch time with dgc-some lemon,some maple syrup,some blueberry,some golden syrup,some cheese- delicious.

ambarth · 06/03/2011 13:24

Yes I have them instead of my evening meal. Will have them with lemon juice and sugar, golden syrup, nutella etc...

lazarusb · 06/03/2011 13:25

Ds will have maple syrup with his, dd will have lemon and sugar and dh and I will have ours with vodka cherries and vanilla ice cream Smile

Eglu · 06/03/2011 13:27

Yes. The DSes have them as a a meal usually. They must have at least one savoury one, usually cheese.

Then we have jam, orange curd, lemon and sugar, golden syrup. Lots of yummy topics.
