I don't think it's harsh chickens....

Blood suckers the lot of them.

carminaburana · 08/02/2011 22:00

Agree FN - old people aren't content with jobs at B&Q, they want to drive as well. I don't think anyone over 70 should be driving anything.

LadyPumpington · 08/02/2011 22:03

After 70 It should be compulsory for them to join social clubs and drink tea and chat all day I think.

Alouiseg · 08/02/2011 22:14

After 70, class A drugs should be made legal.

ledkr · 08/02/2011 22:17

after 70 they dont need to drive as they can use bus passes and not even have to queue as just push slowly to the front---well are you gonna say anything?

LadyPumpington · 08/02/2011 22:18

You don't give up do you alouise?

thefirstMrsDeVere · 08/02/2011 22:19

Anyone who says they are needle phobic so they cant give blood should go and visit a peadiatric oncology ward and then tell me how scared of needles they are. The vast majority of them should also look up the definiton of 'phobia', its not the same as thinking something might hurt a Hmm

Harsh but true.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 08/02/2011 22:20

bit

thefirstMrsDeVere · 08/02/2011 22:21

People who clutch their bag to their sides when my OH or my DS1 walks past them should be punched very hard in their stupid faces - preferably by me.

Asteria · 08/02/2011 22:30

Phew - I have just started giving blood - but for years I had to be restrained to get a needle in! Completely irrational fear rather than phobia imo! Decided to man up and give some of my lovely juice back Grin

I think that organ donation should be an "opt out" rather than "opt in" box that we tick. So may people whitter on about how they will do it, but just never quite get around to it. If they really really didn't want to then they would make sure they ticked the damned box to say so - it would save so many more lives which can only be a good thing. When I meet my maker they can strip me down like an old car Grin

Mumcentreplus · 08/02/2011 22:30

bluddy hell I haven't had a bag clutch in years!! and I'm black ...I tend to get oldies discussing the weather/bus schedules or people asking directions...do civil servants have a certain look?.Grin

Alouiseg · 08/02/2011 22:32

Lady Pumpington?? Que?

reelingintheyears · 08/02/2011 22:34

Do you mean a clutch bag Confused

Mumcentreplus · 08/02/2011 22:36

I find organ donation a bit unsavoury...sorry but you should not have access to an organ because someone did not tick a box..it has to be an informed choice...

If I'm honest I actually HATE when someone/parents come on TV and say likkle 'Annie' needs a heart/lung/liver...actually likkle Annie needs someone to die to give her an organ...

Asteria · 08/02/2011 22:43

I don't like the idea of organ donation perse (especially having just read Never Let Me Go) and I totally agree with the TV appeals too - but they wouldn't need them if more people got their acts together and actually said yes or no rather than dithering.

Asteria · 08/02/2011 22:44

oops - meant to read - I totally agree with your opinion on the TV appeals MCP.

I think the Colin Firth/Jennifer Ehle Pride and Prejudice is shit - twee, badly acted and a travesty.

And I think that the women who go all of a flutter at Mr Darcy in a wet shirt should be forcibly fed French Fancies until they are sick.

People who go on holiday to Dubai are stupid, tasteless, mindless, thick morons.

Thats what I heard LeQ...Shergar = a Butchers Dogs Dinner Grin

thefirstMrsDeVere · 08/02/2011 22:51

reeling no, although I am sure there are MN members who would happily punch someone for owning a clutch bag Grin

I mean those wittering ninnies who get the vapours at the sight of a black man and clutch their bags/bosoms/jewellery lest they are cruely molested.

My OH would probably fall flat on his arse if he leant over to pinch someones bag and my DS is too teenaged to even notice what anyone is doing anyway!

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/02/2011 22:51

Home schooling is for strange social misfits who didn't like school themselves, and want to live vicariously through their children.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/02/2011 22:51

Christ MrsD do people really do that, the wankers.
