I stand by my comment at the end of the previous thread.....Interesting to see where this one goes.....

cakeywakey · 07/02/2011 18:54

What was your comment Blacksand?

30andMerkin · 07/02/2011 18:54

Dammit, I thought I had the last and final work Grin!

Unless you are planting trees in the Sahara or working with disabled children in China or similar, most 'travelling' is just a bloody long holiday. And it's not a right of passage, it's a privilege. It does not necessarily make you a more tolerant or well-rounded person.

Cruises look like purgatory you pay for.

We are a wealthy nation with a mostly exemplary justice system and human rights record and huge resources, so we should be a welcoming safe haven for asylum seeks from countries without such things.

AtYourCervix · 07/02/2011 18:55

Brad Pitt has a weak chin.

AtYourCervix · 07/02/2011 18:55

I still don't like children.

James Joyce is unintelligible.

cakeywakey · 07/02/2011 18:58

We should all be more aware of the water we use and waste. We are too blase about water in the UK and too complacent about having a clean and instantly available supply.

usualsuspect · 07/02/2011 18:59

Blacksand ...it was always going to go that way

travellingwilbury · 07/02/2011 19:00

I think it is ok for my children to sing along to Dr Hook and the medicine show in the car .

cakeywakey · 07/02/2011 19:00

All adults should be able to tell all children 'no' and 'please stop that' - when they misbehave in public or are threatening to damage another child - without fear of being decked.

Blacksand · 07/02/2011 19:01

Maybe so usualsuspect - but i wouldn't want many of those posters to be in charge come the revolution....

30andMerkin · 07/02/2011 19:02

Weight Watchers is a big con that encourages people to eat too much sugar.

TheButterflyCollector · 07/02/2011 19:02

Comprehensive schools are largely a bloody disaster and the only times the middle classes are in favour of them are when they have bought into the catchment of one of the few decent ones or when they are trying to make a right-on, PC point about how wonderful they are in mixing with the hoi polloi. Generally both these apply.

Other people's small children are irritating and I don't want to dine/drink coffee/attend a wedding/etc anywhere near them.

The concept of breastfeeding did not appeal to me one bit so I didn't do it. Screw you if that makes you feel you're better than me/my child is worse off than your child as a result.

You are not superior to others because you don't own a brown leather suite or twigs in a vase. If you think that you are, you're a snob.

Don't presume to know me.

simonedeboudoir · 07/02/2011 19:03

I have a 4x4 and I love it, and I am an excellent driver, even in snow

I am sure that is all true

But it doesn't change the fact that owning a 4X4 is vain, selfish and moronic

noddyholder · 07/02/2011 19:06

You ARE superior if you don't own a brown leather suite don't be silly now

:o Noddyholder.

bupcakesandcunting · 07/02/2011 19:08

If you have in your house;

TWIGS/PEBBLY SHIT

Coffee and cream colour schemes

Brown pleather "contemporary" sofas

Shitting prints of close-ups of petals/stones on a box canvas on your wall

STOCKS (thanks, Custardo Grin)

bupcakesandcunting · 07/02/2011 19:12

"You are not superior to others because you don't own a brown leather suite or twigs in a vase. If you think that you are, you're a snob. "

I honestly didn't read that before pressing 'send' on my snobby McSnobbington post (mother on phone halfway through typing) Grin Blush

penelopestitsdropped · 07/02/2011 19:12

I am sat open mouthed at some of these (and those on the other thread)

i think there is a good reason you normally keep them to yourselves.

And this is what MN has become.

Emmanana · 07/02/2011 19:13

Party bags and competitive party themes can piss right off.
I REFUSE.

EdgarAleNPie · 07/02/2011 19:14

I have done Cio. it works. so ner.

i also potty train at 18 months or nearest convenient time. successfully.

my kids have pudding only if they finish dinner.

none of this makes it any likelier (or less likely) that my kids will be complaining about me on the pyschiatrists couch in twenty years time, but it does make my life easier, which is good enough for me.

i love my car, and although i won't claim it is necessary, i really could't give less of a toss about any putative 'environmental' damage.

Emmanana · 07/02/2011 19:14

I loathe kids voices on answering machines...

TheButterflyCollector · 07/02/2011 19:15

:o Bupcakesandcunting. You might like to rest assured that the suite in this house isn't even leather, much less brown leather, and that the only twigs are those brought into the house by one of the pets. :o
