Re: the driving test for the elderly thing, just checked, and as far as I can tell, you need to have a 3 yearly medical once you are over 70, with sight test etc, but you don't actually have to resit the test.I doubt very much that the medical test is stringent enough. Too much worry about seeming ageist and taking away the independence of the individual involved, and not enough emphasis on the safety of other road and pavement users if you ask me.
