It's a lovely Butterfly Mobile, but I just know that my Mum put him up to it. He'd never manage to buy something that nice by himself. The other day he tried to buy me a Baby Monitor. HE KNEW that I bought one months ago, I showed him and everything.

Plus I'm 7 months pregnant already and he knows that I'm a very organised person, I never would have left it so late to buy such an essential piece of baby equipment.

Honestly, he's useless and so unsupportive! He's been on and on at me my whole pregnancy because he doesn't approve of me becoming a single mother. I just wish he'd shut up about it.

How can Cheesemaker relax and enjoy her dad's present? She's given way far enough to agree to go to her Mum's on Christmas Eve. She'll have to worry about that now, not least what to eat (or not) while she's there.

We never used our baby monitor once, baby was in our room for ages.

Baby was born at 7.5 months and we didn't have anything apart from too big clothes. My OH was panic buying in mothercare and the staff there were asking 'whens it due?' and he had to say, 'its here now'. Terrible.

Don't worry. I'm sure you've got a lovely GBF who, despite you treating him as badly as you treat everyone else around you, will drop everything else at his busiest time of year and paint your nursery, many months before the baby will actually need it.

It's to sterilise the baby, silly. Helen's very fussy about germs and babies are well-known repositories of germs.

That reminds me - today I saw a washing machine with a "baby cycle". Sounds much easier than bathing them!

LondonMother - no doubt about it, cheesemaker will definately eat the placenta. But I very much doubt we will hear it. Ugh, the thought of listening to placenta munching has turned my stomach.

YABVU, When I had my children ny parents bought things together, There wouldn't have been one present from my dad and another one from my Mum.
He asked you about the baby monitor he probably didn't remember that you had already bought one. Give you Dad some slack he tries to make an efort and you just moan about him and how useles he is, I would be devestated if one of my girls did this to DH or me.
