To be Very Pissed Off at My Dad for Bringing a Lovely Baby Toy Around?

It's a lovely Butterfly Mobile, but I just know that my Mum put him up to it. He'd never manage to buy something that nice by himself. The other day he tried to buy me a Baby Monitor. HE KNEW that I bought one months ago, I showed him and everything.

Plus I'm 7 months pregnant already and he knows that I'm a very organised person, I never would have left it so late to buy such an essential piece of baby equipment.

Honestly, he's useless and so unsupportive! He's been on and on at me my whole pregnancy because he doesn't approve of me becoming a single mother. I just wish he'd shut up about it.

Me too! Can't help wondering what's going to happen to her. I mean you.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 21/12/2010 20:13

You are very strange OP

cheesemaker · 21/12/2010 20:14

Although I did wonder if I really needed a baby monitor. I live in a tiny 2 bedroom flat (above the shop, wouldn't you know). But I wouldn't want any chance of My baby crying and not being heard.

Oh, a radio programme?

zisforzebra · 21/12/2010 20:14

I think your mum and dad should both just leave you to it, you self-absorbed control freak. Xmas Wink

curlymama · 21/12/2010 20:15

Have my first Xmas Biscuit for what is either a totally brattish, or supposed to be funny but is really not post.

cheesemaker · 21/12/2010 20:17

And would you believe I've found the perfect colour scheme for my baby's nursery? Even though I don't know if it will be a boy or girl? That's a bit of a tradition in my village we never find out what flavour we're having not even the control freaks like me--.

Unless it's cheese, of course.
Though there was a bit of confusion about the yogurt up at my mum's dairy today, or so I heard.

I think its funny Smile

1234ThumbScrew · 21/12/2010 20:19

Lol at those not in the know

MumNWLondon · 21/12/2010 20:22

YABU.

So he doesn't approve of your life choices but he still brought you a nice present. I wouldn't want that for my DD, although each to their own.

He probably forgot you'd bought the baby monitor. TBH they are a waste of money anyway unless you live in a big house.

ginhag · 21/12/2010 20:23

Oh pleeeease don't tell me that I have, for no good reason whatsoever, just read a thread about the bloody archers???

CaptainBarnacles · 21/12/2010 20:23
Smile
atswimtwolengths · 21/12/2010 20:23

Oh she lives in a big house! They all do!

libelulle · 21/12/2010 20:26

I think it's funny too Grin I'm also quite surprised that I know what's going on - haven't turned radio on at 7pm for over a year, but somehow they get their claws in you and you can't help but keep in touch with what they are up to - sort of like old primary school friends on facebook.

cheesemaker · 21/12/2010 20:26

But I'll show them. I am going to have the most perfect childbirth experience and an even more perfect baby. I will protect him from everything bad that ever existed and he will grow up to be a brilliant.... a Brilliant... a BRILLIANT....

Ormirian · 21/12/2010 20:27

OOh you are so not unreasonable. Kick him in his stupid organic gonads!

FromGirders · 21/12/2010 20:28

I want to know why you're making such a fuss about the "nursery" anyway - surely someone as well-informed as you would know about the sids recommendatuons for baby to sleep in your room for the first six months Hmm.

Whitethorn · 21/12/2010 20:28

Is this a joke thread, surely there cannot be so many people on MN who are ungrateful for their parents

cheesemaker · 21/12/2010 20:31

... a brilliant CHEESEMAKER, just like me! Grin

lololizzy · 21/12/2010 20:38

she 'put him up to it' lol some heinous crime of present buying!! Smile

Unrulysanta · 21/12/2010 20:41

I don't think you should be having this baby when you're clearly so immature about your dad. And also when you can't even be trusted to supply strawberry not raspberry. Grow up OP (and stay for Christmas Day).

notjustapotforsoup · 21/12/2010 20:44

Bless you

1234ThumbScrew · 21/12/2010 20:44

earwicga · 21/12/2010 20:46
