To be Very Pissed Off at My Dad for Bringing a Lovely Baby Toy Around?

It's a lovely Butterfly Mobile, but I just know that my Mum put him up to it. He'd never manage to buy something that nice by himself. The other day he tried to buy me a Baby Monitor. HE KNEW that I bought one months ago, I showed him and everything.

Plus I'm 7 months pregnant already and he knows that I'm a very organised person, I never would have left it so late to buy such an essential piece of baby equipment.

Honestly, he's useless and so unsupportive! He's been on and on at me my whole pregnancy because he doesn't approve of me becoming a single mother. I just wish he'd shut up about it.

Oh yes, babybarrister, with her secret trained to kill llamas!

Oh no, I won't have a difficult birth. I am sure that the hardships of childbirth and motherhood are wildly exaggerated. People have been having babies since the beginning of time. It can't possibly be that difficult, can it? It's all a matter of attitude, you know. ~La~la~la~la~la~la~la~la~la~la~....Xmas Wink

Sounds like our OP is Helen Archer from The Archers

I think your joke has gone a bit awry OP, but I get it. To everyone else on this thread, she is pretending to be a character on the radio 4 programme The Archers - she's not trying to stir.

And Helen, DON'T GO STEALING EMMA GRUNDY'S BABY !!!

Fibilou · 21/12/2010 21:09

Sorry, just read some of hte last posts and thought nobody had "got it".

Clearly the Ambridge fanciers on here are alive and thriving. I haven't heard tonight's yet, I will Listen Again later

pigletmania · 21/12/2010 21:11

YABU, we bought a baby monitor when we were discharged from hospital a couple of days after dd was born, not everyone is ocd organised.

ANunKneeMouse · 21/12/2010 21:14

This is Helen from the Archers!

earwicga · 21/12/2010 21:33

Fibilou - NOBODY would steal a Grundy baby.

Fibilou · 22/12/2010 14:51

you might if you are as unhinged as hellin

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 22/12/2010 14:56

OP please do tell. Was that really a sterizer you were seen buying the other day? How big was it?

Assuming it was a sterilizer (I'm not convinced tbh); you do know that babies are meant to be breastfed for the first six months, don't you? Xmas Wink

Unrulysanta · 22/12/2010 15:06

I have to confess that despite having accidentally listened to the Archers at least twice week for at least five years I have very little idea what's going on. It just seems to wash over me like a West Country accented mist leaving me vaguely wishing that Clarrie would leave whatisname and that someone would punch Linds but really none the wiser.

Blessed are the cheesemakers...

MrsCratchit · 22/12/2010 15:32

Xmas Grin Helen is due the same week as me. She is driving me bonkers!!

daimbardiva · 22/12/2010 16:33

Helen, I think you should give your poor Dad a break!!! :)

Cosmosis · 22/12/2010 16:39

And stop walking all over Ian, say thanks once in a while!

blackeyedsusan · 22/12/2010 16:51

Oh for goodness sake, he means well, he only wants the best for you. Why don't you believe he could have thought of it for himself? is it because he is a man and you have not had such good experiences with men in the past?

Why don't you just get over it, you have said some really nasty things too, you know, at least your dad is trying to make amends.

perhaps you should spend less time being a Know it all and think of things from the other persons point of view.

LadyBiscuit · 22/12/2010 16:58

How did I miss this last night? Confused

OP you are being a total cowbag to your poor dad. And you're a hypocrite to boot because I bet you'll be leaning on him to help you out with babysitting when your cheeses need turning or something.

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 22/12/2010 17:16

Maybe she'll make breastmilk cheese!

LadyBiscuit · 22/12/2010 17:26

Bleugh jennai :o

Actually it is safe to make blue cheese when you're pregnant?

She'll have to defrost it first, Stay.

All those casseroles and whatnot should come in handy though if the thing that Shakes Ambridge To The Core means the shops can't open. She could feed the whole village and be a hero. Could be the making of her Xmas Grin

Panzee · 22/12/2010 17:58

She must have bigger freezers than Iceland.
