Considering buying some Uggs...

I know I have been vocal about them being vile, which they are, but the past two mornings walking DS to school, my feet have been frozen in my leather boots. Loads of mums have got them on at the school and I've been jealously eyeing up theiir fur-lining, thinking how snuggly theit toes must feel.

I might get some. AIBU or should I stick with my leather boots and freeze yet not worry that I look like Kerry Katona? Confused

They look nicer than an Ugg, Euphemia :)

Ugg do a Kensington boot that looks nice and not Ugg-like. But they are still Uggs...

Up to you but I'll be sticking with leather boots as i just can't make myself like them, although I did buy these for my dd

taintedpaint · 24/11/2010 11:11

They are bloody ugly and sheepskin....not a good product at all.

notso · 24/11/2010 11:11

YABU they look horrid plus you will have to live with the knowledge you are subjecting people to the sound of the 'Ugg shuffle' everywhere you go.
Get thee some thicker socks.

cupcakesandbunting · 24/11/2010 11:13

I think I ABU too, for the record Grin

And you know it.

Your need cornsilk or pagwatch on style tips, found me a nice pink thong once. They style Kerry Katona too with some guidance from BecauseImWorthIt.

Bloodymary · 24/11/2010 11:15

Yes, the 'Ugg shuffle' drives me mad.

GeorgeWBush · 24/11/2010 11:17

The Kensingtons are nice, leather and waterproof - not keen on any of the others though.

Floozle · 24/11/2010 11:24

Arent they indoor footwear? Im sure I read that the Aussies take the pee out of us for wearing these things outdoors!

DastardlyandSmugly · 24/11/2010 11:25

They are wonderful. I wouldn't be without mine.

notso · 24/11/2010 11:38

Floozle I think you are right, my Grandma always wore them as slippers after visiting her niece in Australia in the early 90's.

Itsjustafleshwound · 24/11/2010 11:42

Fitflop boots - really comfy

FranSanDisco · 24/11/2010 11:48

Well I love them but I get mine from celtic sheepskin.

QuoththeRaven · 24/11/2010 12:14

get some docs and some thick socks :)

epicfail · 24/11/2010 12:16

oh FFS they ARE slippers!

Yes YABU

Uggs outdoors just scream bogan (chav to you lot).

40deniertights · 24/11/2010 12:20

If you must have something of that ilk then I think these are nicer as they have a proper functional sole. Have seen them in RL and they look much more like boots than slippers.

cupcakesandbunting · 24/11/2010 12:29

these are the ones I would like so not to slipper-ish, unless you disagree?

They're still Uggs though. I could put some gaffa tapeover the Ugg badge on the back :)

I like those Kensington ones but they are bloody expensive aren't they.

I liked the lands end ones more though.

cupcakesandbunting · 24/11/2010 12:41

Someone is selling a brand new pair on eBay for much cheaper

OP posts:
5DollarShake · 24/11/2010 12:42

They are slippers!! It doesn't matter of yours aren't specifically Uggs - if they look like Uggs and walk like Uggs, then they're still just as fugly...! Grin

Get some warm winter boots with proper support, and proper soles.

TheFeministParent · 24/11/2010 12:48

Australian Uggs from Oz are indoor wear, the American 'Australian' Uggs are outdoor. I have loathed them too but DH bought me a grey knit pair and I've worn them everyday for 2 monthsBlush.

The 'proper' Uggs do have good support and proper soles.
