Denise Van Outen Pisses Me Off!

Sorry but DVO really annoys me with her bleating and excuses for not breastfeeding - rather than just say it is not for her she bleats and bleats and makes excuses for giving up on bf and I am sick of hearing her go on and on. BF is hard and it takes perseverance and time to establish both supply and technique - she did not give it long enough and completely choose to ignore the health benefits of bf and now keeps bleating on.

I know some people will be outraged by how I feel and I do know there are ladies who have genuine problems with bf and can't carry on. but I 'do' feel that women like DVO who, lets face it, gave up on bf and didn't give it long enough, really take away from women who really persevere through all the problems that bf can bring.

And don't get me started on the fact she left poor baby and went on that trek...baby needs mummy at such a young age not for mummy to go off and leave her. I really don't think much of her anymore!

ok, this is 'MY' opinion and everyone is entitled to their own!

southeastastra · 10/10/2010 14:27

blimey poor denise. can't these threads stick to the breast and bottle feeding topic? i've hidden that

cornflakequeenie · 10/10/2010 14:27

My first ever Biscuit

FranSanDisco · 10/10/2010 14:27

I'm not going to judge her parenting as that's not my business. What I want to know is why are her eyes disappearing? That's important to me Grin

Tippychoocks · 10/10/2010 14:29

Couldn't care less if she feeds her baby in popcorn. But I hate her singing and agree with the weird eye thing.

Entirely up to her if she doesn't want to breastfeed. She had her own reasons and that should be good enough.

Miasma · 10/10/2010 14:32

I'm not outraged by how you feel im just thankful I don't know you in real life. You must be really dull.

Just my opinion.

BlueCupcake · 10/10/2010 14:33

Denise is down to earth compared with many other celebs.Three weeks of breastfeeding is impressive imo.

tethersend · 10/10/2010 14:33

Hmm. I'm not sure whether YABU or YANBU.

The only way for me to decide would be if I could read 50 pages of anecdotes and personal experiences of feeding...

...If only there were some way of finding some...

Oh well.

Hedgeblunder · 10/10/2010 14:37

We don't know what problems she had.

Her latest article

P.S FranSanDisco - you're right about the eyes Grin

I'm siding with her to be honest. BF is fucking hard work, and you have to want to succeed at it for it to ever work out. If it wasn't that important to her, then so bloody what. She did what was right for her and her baby. Good on her for at least trying, if only for a few weeks.

You see all the time on the BF boards "Just make sure baby at least has some colustrum if you really don't want to BF" - well why is it any different for her? She did that, as well as BFing for a few weeks, and then gave it up. She is happy, baby is happy, the end.

Tippychoocks · 10/10/2010 14:40

Grin tethersend. Shall I share?

previous post should have read on popcorn. In popcorn would be messy and wrong.

Georgimama · 10/10/2010 14:46

Her husband's hot though.

BlueCupcake · 10/10/2010 14:52

Her husband is Giles Corens double!

nancy75 · 10/10/2010 14:57

people that comment on the feeding choices of others piss me off.

Tippychoocks · 10/10/2010 14:57

Husband is Lee Mead isn't he? Joseph? I loved him Blush

MsKalo · 10/10/2010 14:58

Miasma - how predictable of you to say something like i must be dull

whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Can't say I have an opinion about her stopping bf, but do think the NHS letter was pretty out of order.

MsKalo · 10/10/2010 15:02

why piss u off nancy75? this is a place for comments is it not! i am not asking people to agree with me but i don't get her bleaaaaating and whining. she didn't give it long enough and now just keeps making excuses - at least she should just be honest and stop whining.

why is it so bad to say that i dont get why some women dont persevere with bf when it is such an amazing gift to give to babies? the benefits are enormous so why not persevere? i will never understand it.

OP if Denise Van Outen pisses you off [by expressing her own opinion] then why don't you just avoid reading about her. I do this all the time, eg Xfactor pisses me off, so I avoid watching it or reading anything about it. Sorted!

BlueCupcake · 10/10/2010 15:04

But she breastfed for 3 weeks! That's good going!
