@wintertime6

Resting heart rate is down from 80 to 61 over the past 2 weeks 🙈
Wow!
CandyLeBonBon · 14/01/2021 08:06

DAY 14!!!!! THAT'S TWO FLIPPIN WEEKS! It's probably been decades since I've been this long alcohol free! Well done everyone - and if you've had a wobble, get up and get right back in because you've got this!

CoronaIsWatching · 14/01/2021 08:24

Day 14 for me too, now hurtling towards the half way point!

theDudesmummy · 14/01/2021 08:33

Staying dry but eating too much and craving sweet things. Telling myself, well, at least one out of two! Have run out of AF stuff (Three Spirit will hopefully be delivered today) so spent yesterday evening on soda water with splash of lemon juice. It was OK...

I am struggling to manage my time between pressures of work (have got seriously behind on this) and home schooling, which is quite stressful. Drinking will just waste time (including causing later morning starts generally) so I will hold firm!

Rolo1324 · 14/01/2021 08:34

Morning 😃😃 glad we are in this together this thread is so helpful and supportive now!! Been ok this week but Friday is looming and that's my weak spot......
Wishing you all a fab day! 😄

theDudesmummy · 14/01/2021 08:35

I was hoping to have been losing weight by now but think the chocolates and toast I have been "comfort eating" have probably precluded this. Have not weighed myself but trousers are no looser!

theDudesmummy · 14/01/2021 08:36

Friday would indeed have normally been my weak spot but in my lockdown life atm there is no real distinction between week and weekend, so I am telling myself there is nothing special about Friday!

Youngatheart00 · 14/01/2021 10:00

Weighed myself and I’ve lost NOTHING. I weigh exactly the same as I did on NYE. What’s the sodding point 😣

LittleBeee · 14/01/2021 10:17

Hi all, checking in again. Plodding on here too... a few days behind most people but I’m aiming for longer than DJ to make up for it - and possibly long term AF. Sorry to hear about all those struggling with losses, stressful work and homeschooling. Reading through the thread, it’s clear how many strong people there are here. My kids are all grown up and independent and I live alone (which presents its own challenges in these times!) but I’m keeping on with DJ as I feel so much better without, even though it’s early days (day 6 for me). However, no weight lost yet. I was inspired by a pp’s routine - lunchtime walk and 30 min exercise after work. I also WFH so that will fit in my schedule. Thinking of a yoga sesh after work to unwind and get through the witching hour. Stay strong, all!

SwiftyFifty · 14/01/2021 10:24

Morning all. Day 14 and should be feeling ecstatic instead feel like I’ve been run over by a bus. Perked myself out of bed at the last moment. Is this usual or maybe unconnected!? Anyway gutted as imagined I’d be over the worse by now ( if this tiredness is related!) I have been sleeping so well. Maybe body is adjusting.

TSBelliot · 14/01/2021 10:50

Well Youngatheart I am heavier!

MoonBaby1 · 14/01/2021 11:48

I don’t feel any lighter. I’m a bit overweight but I’m primarily doing this for a reset and all round health benefits.

I have a horrendous period and experiencing it the raw for the first time. I’d usually be up to my eyeballs on codiene during the day and some weed edibles and drink in the evening. I’m hurting so bloody much and only have paracetamol and a wheat bag shoved down my trousers!

supercee · 14/01/2021 11:56

Day 14! Yesterday was the only day I've felt a bit 'could do with eating anything I want and having a glass of wine' but that was only because I hadn't planned or organised anything for dinner (I'm dieting too). Amazingly still haven't had any proper cravings to battle.

Still undecided whether to have a night off at the end of the month for my birthday and then get back on the wagon for another month. Usually I only stick to a diet for a couple of weeks but I'm in this for the long haul, and thinking that planned cheat days/nights could help me stick to this.

BlueSussex · 14/01/2021 12:20

Finally got a good night's sleep Smile Thank God for that.

My skin! Honestly, it looks like I have had some kind of procedure, it's that smooth and flat and bloody lovely. I can't believe it.

mrsnibblesisahero · 14/01/2021 13:09

Is it the Try Dry app you are all on? Presumably you can't backdate that? Sounds better than my Drink Free Days app.

supercee · 14/01/2021 13:11

I have drink tracker and much prefer it to the dry app. You only log if you do have a drink so it just automatically logs your dry days. I prefer that to logging every day. If you have a drink it'll mark it down as red and what the calories and cost is so good as an overall glance.

CoronaIsWatching · 14/01/2021 13:20

Personally I enjoy marking off the dry days on the try dry app, I look forward to it every day Blush

supercee · 14/01/2021 13:22

I'll maybe have to start doing that @CoronaIsWatching when my resolve starts to weaken!

Origamiheaven · 14/01/2021 13:55

No weight loss here either. So frustrating. Sleeping is getting better and I also feel less anxious on stuff that usually bothers me. Not sure if due to better sleep or no booze

Els1e · 14/01/2021 14:46

I had an initial weight loss of 3lbs which I was very excited about but nothing since. Had a bit of a headache the last couple of days but not sure if that is related to no alcohol. Could be. My dp tells me I’ve been grinding my teeth and clenching my jaw when asleep. When I drink, I sleep with mouth open, sloppy jaw and dribbling. 😬 Skin has improved so that’s a bonus.

Blessex · 14/01/2021 15:23

Hi alert. Nosecco has arrived!!!! Chilling in the fridge. Tonic top up ready too! Am so excited about having that tonight! Looking forward already!

SeeyouontheothersideofCovid · 14/01/2021 15:38

Tonight - prawn curry and AF lager for me here!

Allycat · 14/01/2021 15:42

@Blessex yay!! Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Well as much as we can, considering its booze free 😁

Humphriescushion · 14/01/2021 16:44

I will have a look at the apps, would be nice to tick off the days so to speak. Had a nice quiet day today and ashamed to say i binge watched some rubbish t.v but thoroughly enjoyed it. Got a face wash cleanser recommended by the dermatologist, and is my treat for today along with the rubbish t.v. Hope everyone has a good evening.

TSBelliot · 14/01/2021 17:24

Yeah I drink all through my horrid periods and a wheat bag and hot water bottle isn’t replacing what you have been using😂 it’s very counter intuitive but running does - not that I can be arsed at the minute but it really does.
