Frouby, I hope the orthodontist went ok. I had also wondered about laminitis (my parents have several ponies, and it has been a Thing). It's good for my DD, though, as she loves them, and they get her off her phone. My DM picks up poo by hand and sticks it in a poo trough. DD still enjoys being on poo duty when she goes to stay with them.
Anglaise, Longest and Canshop, thank you for thinking of me. We had a good and very much not AF evening. However, DP upset me today so I have (sorry) bought gin. I'm being a bit experimental. It was a very small bottle, honestly. He introduced me to a friend as "a friend of mine". I wanted to say, but didn't: "I am not a fucking 'friend of yours'. I am your girlfriend. I give you regular blow jobs and iron your shirts and generally make your life nicer by loving you to bits and tolerating your shitty behaviour. Since when did a casual friend do any of the above?"
As I say, though, I didn't say this. I seethed silently and bought said bottle of gin.
Anglaise (again), I'm so excited about your wedding, though. I'm so glad it has worked out and that your DP has realised that you are so special. I can't believe it's the second wedding on this thread!
Leaving, the sodding endless holidays are an independent school thing. The more you pay, the less time they spend there. And, of course, their holidays sodding well have to be different. So I end up with about 2 weeks a year when both DC are actually at school. FML a gazillion times over. I'm adopting the 'stink eye' expression, as this sums DD up perfectly.
Longest, good luck with the school application. Schools are so stressful. I PMSL at the riding story, though. They get better at lying about their ages, honestly. DS is still buying child tickets for trains, despite being well over the age limit. DD, for her part, is trying to claim she is 16 (which she is decidedly not) so she can have her hair balayaged on a Groupon voucher. I am ashamed to say I agreed to lie for her, as she is so tall and old-looking that we will probably get away with it. She is still regretting the episode where she fell asleep with bleach and foil on her head in Year 7. 'Patchy' is a polite way to express the result. 😂
