Oh Kew, I'm soooooooo disappointed you won't be there. Good luck with the op tomorrow, you poor thing. When you are better let me know and I will make a huge effort to get myself and the kids over to your neck of the woods. (This is meant to be a spur to hasten your recovery, not a threat. )

Hifi - have you already booked it? If you've used Mrs Fanjo I will also be pronouncing it Fan-ho. I'm sure that the staff only listen to the starting letter anyway so they can scan quickly down the list.

Should we describe ourselves? I'm planning to wear this top. I'm quite (alright, very) overweight and I have brown hair in a sensible mummy-bob that looks like I just crawled out of bed no matter what I do with it.

KristinaM · 25/05/2010 12:57

see kew, you are a legend in your own lunchtime

i will look exactly like a middle aged mum who has slept on a train, been woken at 6am and trekked around a garden show all day. I have not yet worked out outfit - need to see what Chelsea weather is like. i believe its hot now but meant to be cooler on Thursday. anyway it will involve SENSIBLE SHOES

A kind mumsnetter on the style and beauty threads suggested a wear a maxi dress, denim jacket and glads . i didnt have the heart to tell her i own NONE of these things. but at least i know what " fierce glads" are

the joys of mumsnet

nice top BTW bran

off to spot Peasantplucker on BBC chelsea programme. if i can get poorly Ds to sleep so i can turn off ben and hollys little kingdom . grrrrr

hifi · 25/05/2010 13:03

Right, all booked, done the covent garden one as i think it will be easier to find.
7.15 Mrs Fanjo althought she did keep saying Sandro!
not sure on outfit until i see what the weather is like. Bran,i will look for your top.I have asked for a quiet table. Cant wait!!!!!!

Silver1 · 26/05/2010 13:35

Oh no just read Kewcumber's update!

So who will be the mysterious Mrs Fan HO

KristinaM · 26/05/2010 13:58

bagsy not me

PheasantPlucker · 26/05/2010 14:29

KristinaM - it was lovely. My favourite was TSS, just magical. Least favourite was the totally pointless garden full of diamonds! (Why?!!) Also liked Norwegian Garden, CRUK Garden (Robert Myers was there, and took dh and me on a tour inside, which was great! He was so pleased/relieved to get a gold medal, and admitted he was v disappointed with silver-gilt last year.)and the Green and Black's courtyard garden. I wasn't so keen on Andy Sturgeon's Telegraph Garden, but dh loved it. Rather liked James Wong's garden, so much better than his entry last year.
The Eden Project one was interesting (they used the entire space of that large triangle plot, which is some doing!) although dh was eying the triangle plot proprietorially!
Found some of the arrangements in the marquee very odd! That fairy was quite alarming!
Oh, word of advice, take anti-histimines if you have hay fever. The plane trees spent all day shedding, and everyone was sneezing!

I seem to have picked up the stomach bug my daughters have had. This could curtail future fun this week....

PheasantPlucker · 26/05/2010 14:32

PS I wore gladiator sandals! Are they de rigeur this year at Chelsea from other threads then?! I also wore a green shirt dress and black three quarter length trousers. Just so you know!

KristinaM · 26/05/2010 17:01

thnaks for all the tips, especially hay fever one

i will watch tv coverage later and report back if i saw you

sorry need to go and feed kids

BTW the zizzi offer of BOGOF has ended - there is a different offer here

bran · 26/05/2010 23:05

OK, I have printed off a voucher. I lied about my date of birth though, cheeky sods.

Foolishly I haven't been watching Chelsea this year so I won't be able to join in the conversation.

PheasantPlucker · 27/05/2010 08:21

Hi all, I am really sorry but I can't make it tonight, but I would love to come if you organise another one. I am sorry about tonight, but have managed to get the bug dd1 and dd2 have had, and have been off school with. I also need to be OK for tomorrow as dd1 has her leg casts off tomorrow, after having them on for 5 weeks post tendon lengthening surgery last month.
I hope you all have a lovely night, and I am sorry not to meet you all this time x
(KristinaM if you are on FB you might be able to find me, you already know my surname....)

hifi · 27/05/2010 12:16

hope you all turn up,dont want to be johnny no mates

Silver1 · 27/05/2010 12:30

I am really sorry but I don't think I will be able to come tonight- DS has come down with a nasty cough, and unusually for him is being clingy.
I would leave him if DH was home, but he is doing some extra work tonight, and unless he really perks up it wouldn't be fair to leave him at my parents.
I was really looking forward to tonight, a night out in London, but I just can't see it happening

hifi · 27/05/2010 17:37

oh no,only 3 of us! well i hope

bran · 27/05/2010 18:23

I'll be there. Even if it's just me on my own I'm staying, it's so rare for me to get a night out.

I'm a bit on tenterhooks as DH swore faithfully he would be home well before 6.15 and hasn't shown yet. On time for him is anything up to 1 hr late. After an hour it's "look, sometimes it just can't be helped" time.

Silver1 · 28/05/2010 01:12

SO HOW WAS IT
DS coughed himself silly- so tell me you had a lovely time.

KristinaM · 28/05/2010 10:08

we had a lovely time

hifi · 28/05/2010 10:32

we gassed for england.lovely to meet you both.

bran · 28/05/2010 15:09

It was great to meet hifi and Kristina, it was fun. Although I did rather disgrace myself by knocking my beer over hifi (sorry) and talking bollox. I would excuse myself under grounds of drunkeness but I only had one bottle of Peroni, not even a full bottle as some of it ended up in hifi's lap. I think it was just tiredness and over-excitement. I really ought to get out more.

hifi · 28/05/2010 18:58

you are forgiven

Kewcumber · 28/05/2010 21:19

I wanted to come
