Place your bets ladies on who planted the camera???

Mark or her Mother are my guesses

I do think it is awful the way she is treated in the press.

hambler · 16/08/2009 23:36

It could be fake.
She appears at the nursery in a baggy white t shirt and glasses and the NOTW does a mock up with a look - a- like.

If it was real why would she be wearing dark glasses in her own bathroom?

MrsBarbaraKingstanding · 16/08/2009 23:37

Either side of this debate suggesting the choice between being taken away from your home, your family, friends, the person/people who you are most closley attached to (albeit they're fucked up), OR staying with said fucked up parent and all that is familiar, and where despite fucked upness you feel loved, is a clear cut one are very deluded.

Being taken into care is damaging. Being left in a chaotic unstable home is damaging, and judging when one becomes more damaging than the other is never clear cut.

Who'd be a Social worker??

Maybe it's becoming more obvious KK can't at present care adequately for her children at present, but calls of 'bring SS in' seem naive to me. As if going into care saves children from being damaged. Believe me it doesn't.

I am sure KK is not being the mother she wants to be; her own past, poor choices and current apparent helplessness are all interlinked and she needs help, beacuse those children need their mother.

I feel rather dirty after watching that clip. The music playing underneath - what was all that about. It was as if the NOTW were flagging up what a Dreadfully sad thing we were about to witness when we all know the real soundtrack being played underneath that footage would have been the self-satisfied cackling of some NOTW journ going "got you, you c**t". Nasty, nasty. And we all know don't we that it would have had to have been somebody in a very trusted position to be able to plant a camera like that. Exploitation of the highest order going on.

And yes, if Brian wants those children, what is it exactly, that is stopping him from applying for custody? There seems to be a lot of outrage as far as KK is oncerned but no one really stepping in to give any useful/neccessary help or rescue.

beanieb · 17/08/2009 08:25

there's a surprising lack of compassion on mumsnet isn't there

Maybe it's all the Daily Mail readers or something?

Thank god for all the sensible posters in this thread who don't scream for children to be taken away from their mother based on one possibly illegally filmed video!

MadameCastafiore · 17/08/2009 08:29

I feel sorry for her - she has had a messed up life from the start!

Now surrounded by money grabbbing bastards and having mental health issues, we all should be slightly more sympathetic.

She does look thinner, doesn't she, Cyradis! I said that.

noddyholder · 17/08/2009 09:28

cocaine makes you thinner v quickly. This is typical DM stick the knife in journalism which does add to my surprise that anyone on here or in rl would want anything to do with the rag.It is anti women, mothers ,single parents' the list goes on.....

Snorbs · 17/08/2009 09:28

MrsBabs, there is a difference between believing that SS should be involved and believing that the children would be better off in care. Despite what some may believe involvement by SS does not automatically mean that the children will be taken into care.

Based on my experiences at least, SS involvement in a situation like this will concentrate on a) ensuring the children are safe, and b) getting the parent the help they need. They'd only consider care proceedings if the parent proves his/herself to be totally non-compliant and that he/she continues to put the children at risk.

Fruitysunshine · 17/08/2009 09:34

Didn't the children just spend 3 weeks in Ireland with Brian and his family?

bigchris · 17/08/2009 09:35

has ehe released a statement about it does anyoen know?

FreewheelinFranklin · 17/08/2009 09:40

Why was the tray of drugs conveniently set up so all she had to do was come in and have a quick snort ? It was all laid out for her - a nicely chopped line, a rolled up note and a seemingly huge bag of coke all in perfect view of the camera. Why was it just sitting in the bathroom ? Why did she not clear up the stuff after herself and hide it if there were other people in the house. I smell a set up.

Aitchiswaitingforalegalopinion · 17/08/2009 09:44

lol, there was a CAMERA sitting on the sink counter, of COURSE it was a set-up.

croft. betcha.

noddyholder · 17/08/2009 09:46

It was def him

MrsBarbaraKingstanding · 17/08/2009 09:47

Snorbs, yes I understand that, although I think intervention offered by SS is in reality rather limited and generally more of a monitoring and assessment role.

I just thought some people were suggesting the children should automatically be removed without considering the complexity of the damage of staying vs the damage of removing, that social workers face evry day.

EccentricaUsesTheDMForBogRoll · 17/08/2009 09:50

on the plus side she's looking quite thin

FreewheelinFranklin · 17/08/2009 09:59

What I mean is it was either done with her knowledge or it is someone pretending to be her. It is too 'staged'.

GirlsAreLoud · 17/08/2009 10:08

I don't get what all the fuss is about, why did they need to set her up? She's admitted she takes drugs in the past hasn't she?

Portofino · 17/08/2009 10:11

For the money of course! Bastards.

GirlsAreLoud · 17/08/2009 10:12

No, I mean, why is it news?

SoupDragon · 17/08/2009 10:14

"cocaine makes you thinner v quickly."

What, even since picking your children up earlier in the day??

squeaver · 17/08/2009 10:14

Eccentrica - that's the coke.

Greensleeves · 17/08/2009 10:14

Does it?!?!?!
