What food and drink do you buy from Amazon?

It's never occurred to me to buy food from Amazon but a friend put me on to it and am now wondering what else I've missed out on.

So far I have oat milk, 24 can pack of ice tea, J2O cans, pumpkin spice syrup and dried fruit snacks. So much cheaper than in supermarkets.

Sundried tomatoes (kilo bags), large bags of spices, gochugaru, gochujang (though our Sainsbury's does stock that now)*

*The west coast of Scotland isn't renowned for its Asian supermarkets, you genuinely can't get hold of a lot of things I use in the normal supermarkets here

Lifewasapillow · 03/10/2026 18:37

I've never bought food and drink from Amazon. I have all the supermarkets in walking distance.

SourdoughSally · 03/10/2026 18:40

Amazon will only be happy when everyone buys everything from them, lining their greedy pockets ever further. Shame on you.

Cereal and rice. Cereal is cheaper from amazon, and I get it auto delivered. We eat so much rice so we buy big bags from amazon, since anything larger than 1kg isn't available to be delivered by tesco.

Tea and coffee on subscribe and save.

ChocHotolate · 03/10/2026 19:53

I like a flavoured coffee, you can now only get the sachets in the shops but Amazon still has the tubs. Have it on subscribe & save

goudacheese · 03/10/2026 20:03

A coffee substitute by Clipper, chia seeds, sometimes chocolate as cheaper than the supermarket.

imperfectpasie · 03/10/2026 22:07

I buy anything that is bulky. Nuts, seeds coconut in kilo bags. Toilet Rolls, wet wipes , cleaning items. I am fortunate that I have a garage so if I buy 6 or 12 of something it is easy to store. It saves me money as well as having to carry heavy items.I think it only works if you have prime for free delivery.

I always look out for offers in cans of Pepsi, also get it on subscription as it’s cheaper again, and then you can cancel subscriptions if you don’t want to buy it again

Dolce gusto decaf cafe au lait pods. Very rarely in stock here and cheaper on Amazon. Spices and seasonings.

Funkyfoxy · 03/10/2026 22:17

Crisps .. it's bit cheaper than supermarket and they always have our favourites

5289843DM · 03/10/2026 22:19

Strangely, I ordered my first, everyday food item from them today! Coffee.

I've previously ordered an obscure vinegar once, but until today, never compared the cost of things I normally get at the supermarket.

XmasCrackPies · 03/10/2026 22:21

I get my vertuo pods from them as you can't get them in supermarkets. They are more expensive on Amazon but the Nespresso website is so shite I'll happily pay the extra to not deal with it.

I have a nozecco wine subscription from Amazon but after buying some crisps and ambrosia rice that were in date but decidedly dodgy, I'd not buy groceries from them again. I'm just not sure where their warehouse is, how food is stored or turnover time of products.

Edited to amend typo.

Ohsakes · 03/10/2026 22:24

Some things are a bit niche but I buy vegetarian or vegan versions of Worcestershire sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce and marshmallows (which the local M&S food sometimes also have). Also huge bags of organic oat bran (local supermarkets don't stock it and I'm miles from a Holland and Barrett or any other "health food" shop).

DoubleOFeckinBollocks · 03/10/2026 22:26

I’d happily buy everything from Amazon, but we haven’t yet got into the habit of buying food from them. My husband does buy Lobo satay sauce mix in bulk from them, but that’s about it.

mondaytosunday · 04/10/2026 00:16

I used to get protein bars and powder for my gym loving son. I get beef jerky for myself. Cheaper than supermarket prices.

PumpkinSpicedFattie · 04/10/2026 00:26

I keep an eye on Latest Deals and stock up on bulk boxes of chocolates when they’re on offer. Like Yorkies, Crunchies etc

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/10/2026 00:28

Squeezy peanut butter and squeezy Marmite are regular orders for me, sometimes cans of Diet Coke depending on what the supermarket offers are. Things like hot honey, and spices, we buy occasionally but tend to last forever.

We also order cat food on Amazon on subscription.

Focusispower · 04/10/2026 00:30

Tonic water and oat milk are our staples. Also biona organic coconut milk. I was hoping we might find allergy friendly oat bars more cheaply but haven’t as yet.

piscofrisco · 04/10/2026 04:17

Pisco. Nowhere else reliably stocks it. I occasionally see it in Waitrose but not reliably so Amazon it is.

Zoflorabore · 04/10/2026 04:25

J20 cans here too!

we use it for so much to be honest and also get an Amazon Fresh delivery at least once a week, that is a brilliant service and delivered within a couple of hours. Also sells the much loved on MN “Booths” brand.

i know a lot on here hate Amazon but I think they’re brilliant and for our situation they’re a godsend and their customer service is outstanding.
I will take the shame.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 04/10/2026 05:42

Large boxes of Diet Coke, kilo jars of dried wild mushrooms, boxes of protein bars & cereal bars...works out much cheaper than the supermarkets
