It's never occurred to me to buy food from Amazon but a friend put me on to it and am now wondering what else I've missed out on.

So far I have oat milk, 24 can pack of ice tea, J2O cans, pumpkin spice syrup and dried fruit snacks. So much cheaper than in supermarkets.

If something is cheaper on Amazon than in the nearby shops and I can also get it delivered for free, then I will buy it from Amazon. I’m not going to spend more and inconvenience myself just so Tesco gets my money instead 🤷🏻‍♀️

A friend buys a particular rum for her dad at Christmas she can't get elsewhere. I get ginja cherry liqueur at Christmas. There's an Italian company that sells chocolate hazelnut spread which is Palm oil free. It's gorgeous.

We don't live in a cosmopolitan area. So it's very useful. I bought Kimberley biscuits last Christmas online because DH had never heard of them and cinnamon chewing gum for son who loved them in Italy.

A certain BBQ sauce that you can only get small bottles in the supermarket of - cheaper to buy off amazon for bigger bottles. Occasionally spirits or cans of coke if cheaper. Gusto coffee pods. Cat food. Amazon essentials lemonade just tastes nicer.

Vegetable country bakes.

They sound so wholesome, but are absolute filth... a patty of mixed veg and cheese, wrapped in bread crumbs and deep fried. Have to buy them in a catering pack from Amazon, at least 30 at a time. Oh well

Mutti tomatoes. There was a promotion and I got 24 tins for about £15. Although I only have about 6 tins left and they are more expensive now but still better than the supermarket (about £1 a tin when you buy in bulk)

They also sell 6 packs of Bold Beans for a pretty decent price.

Luckily I have a large pantry. It's great for buying in bulk and ultimately saving quite a lot of money

Mutti tomatoes, Tanqueray gin. All other shopping comes via online supermarket shop.

Coffee beans mostly. Amazon brand, for grinding at home. Surprisingly good

Doggymummar · 04/10/2026 17:04

Glebe Farm oat milk that is made to work well in tea (long life so bulk buy), multipacks of cans of Karma lemonade, Barry’s Irish teabags or Clipper English Breakfast, bottled water, Britvic orange and blackcurrant cordials.

I don't buy from Amazon. I use them to my advantage by reading reviews, comparing prices and then buy elsewhere.

Bollocks! 😂😂

50g sachets of creamed coconut that seem to have disappeared from all our local stores even the Asian ones

Hatty65 · 04/10/2026 17:32

I don't buy food or drink, but I do buy 72 toilet rolls at a time, and 12 big kitchen rolls. Also bulk buy tins of dog food.

Anything heavy and bulky.

mac111 · 04/10/2026 17:41

Big tubs of Whole Earth peanut butter - sometimes Amazon is cheaper, sometimes Tesco if it’s on offer. I always check before I buy it

Rockpunkdisco · 04/10/2026 17:42

Bird food.

caringcarer · 04/10/2026 18:12

Amazon will only be happy when everyone buys everything from them, lining their greedy pockets ever further. Shame on you.

I would agree with you but I think there are some items that supermarkets absolutely take the piss with some products. It costs over a fiver to get 2 vanilla pods from Tesco, it’s under a fiver for a pack of ten from Amazon and they are better quality. Generally I think Amazon is quite good at bulk selling those spices/ ingredients that supermarkets are charging quite a lot for tiny amounts with excessive packaging.

I would generally prefer not to shop on Amazon but if supermarkets overcharge to that extent it feels bonkers not to.

Yetie · 05/10/2026 13:18

Diet Coke, the big boxes of cans because usually cheaper and I don’t have to lug them in and out of the car.

Ginisatonic · 05/10/2026 13:40

We buy Azerra coffee and thanks to this thread I’ve ordered oat milk and some gluten free cereal.

notantordec · 05/10/2026 13:43

MagicUser1 · 05/10/2026 14:19

I use Amazon Fresh quite a lot - same day delivery at no cost, and the actual items are in line with supermarkets like Tesco/sainsburys. Lots of it is Morrisons or occassionally Iceland or just regular brands. I've live in a house full of gannets so we need to shop twice weekly and I'm not usually organised enough to do it far enough in advance, so amazon same day is a godsend.

I've also bought alcohol on the regular amazon sometimes as some of the stuff I buy is cheaper on there.

sueelleker · 05/10/2026 14:21

Stuff for baking-sachets of orange and lemon zest, and dried fruits (soft fruits and chopped dried apple)

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/10/2026 20:07

Dorset Muesli in boxes of 6, as it’s cheaper than Tesco, and DH gets through a box a week.

Slabs of LA Brewery
kombucha. It’s my favourite tipple, feels grown up, but alcohol free.
