Speaking to an American friend who lives here and she really does not think the Mango Manchild is going to accept midterm results - I am quite nervous as they may really be the point of no return for full on fascism in the States.

Have had some light relief from Jack Smith seeming to be end to end cool, calm and classy in the face of the most ridiculous fabricated conspiracy nonsense they have tried to throw at him at the Senate hearing today. He's really showing them up for the moronic amateurs they are.

On the serious side I truly commend his bravery. This thoroughly rotten regime are absolutely prepared to punish this man for his integrity and standing by the rule of law and he is not backing down.

I agree. And if he's still alive in 2028 he will be going nowhere. He's already said so, during his campaign when he said similar to "if you vote for me now you will never need to vote again" and repeated it when questioned. The ballroom is a bunker in which to entrench himself when the election doesn't go his way and he talks of his planned triumphal arch being able to accommodate snipers on the top.

It's a bit like the vile crimes of Jimmy Savile and what we now know with hindsight. Different crimes, obviously, but I mean their doings being committed in plain sight and all but telling you what he's doing. While others in power smile, praise and clap and those who could curb him do nothing. He's wearing and distributing Trump 2028 caps, openly. That's not a joke. The midterms are going to be very, very telling.

Hilariously Trump's attack dog Sen. Schmitt smugly declared to Jack Smith in yesterday's hearing that he has CAUGHT HIM perjuring himself because Smith claimed not to have been at an NBA match they asked him about attending (apparently this was because they were alleging he was covertly meeting another anti Trump prosecutor there). Only for it turn out Smith was at a simarly named women's basketball team match that night in Iowa.

Schmitt's team had even created fake text messages and everything and various GOP commentators were already posting it in X as though it was this massive win before Smith and Senator (I think) Amy Klobuchar utterly debunked it.

More sinisterly, though, it suggests a coordinated effort to try to undermine Smith because these commentators had been told about Schmitt's 'big reveal'. That was totally fabricated and is now thoroughly debunked by images of Smith at the game in Iowa and the fact the faked messages apparently named seats that don't exist at the Atlanta venue.

There's no way that Tump will be fit enough to be president in 2029 if he runs and wins in 2028. There's enough medical evidence now that shows his deterioration (physical and mental) continues apace... BUT given how the Repugs are literally wheeling out Mitch McConnell and pretending he's still able to function as a senator, it's possible that they will use the smoke and mirrors of AI to keep Drumpf 'alive' as a candidate and President. Biden's famous auto pen is laughably prehistoric compared to what is possible now.

I mean, literally, Trump could be at a a global conference, yell 'Mommy I want potty' and do a poo on the podium and the GOP would pretend he is fine because his cultists are the only thing keeping them in power.

It's odd. But making my foil hat into a Del and Rodney hat, maybe diversion. Right Rodders, phone the Rozzers and tell them there is a crime, 10 miles away. That will keep them busy.
