Men hanging around children's playparks

There seems to have been a rash of these on my local FB. Posts full of outrage (?) Fear (?) about men, usually with dark skin, loitering near play parks.

My first reaction is FGS live and let live you nasty racists, but there have been so many I'm now wondering if either they're made up, or there is something untoward. Why are men hanging around in groups by a playpark?

Or was my first guess right?

You’re quite right. Infact many Pakistani gangs went undetected for so long because of fears of racism, and this thread is evident as to why it got that far.

I live in a demographically poor area. There are foreign men who hang out by the play park in the day drinking alcohol. Big groups of them sometimes. My daughter now takes the long way home from school when she walks back. Now that’s not to say I’m dismissing the “its all men” rhetoric, but I haven’t really got time for political correctness either.

Yeah, but we have to constantly make judgements about our safety and potential threats from other people if we're out on our own. It's a lot simpler if the person coming towards us or up behind us is another woman.

They didn’t go undetected. No one in power gave a shit about “trash” who made a “lifestyle choice” (their own words). Even worse, some policemen abused those girls themselves. Do not perpetuate the “fear of being seen as racist” myth. It lets the fuckers off the hook. They. Did. Not. Care.

How do you know they are "foreign"? What is their nationality?

I agree with all of your points, but many of those services were absolutely turning a blind eye due to a fear of being labelled racist. It was a multifaceted fuck up.

There was nothing racist in that post. I walk my dogs in woods and I'm more wary of a single man walking on his own than I am of a single man walking with a dog in there.

My husband is black. He was sat on a bench in our local village park, it's a small park with a few children's play things in one area. All the benches are quite close to the play area but it's not separate to the rest of the park, it's all one area if that makes sense.
A van went past and they shouted at him "what you doing there you bla**k nonce".
What he was doing there was sitting taking a short rest eating a flapjack while out for a lengthy walk.

I’m sorry to be a dick, but the language around this matters a lot to me. I know what was said , what excuses were given . I know “we didn’t want to be seen as racist” was repeated over and over again.

But they knew. They knew the extent of it all. Councils, the police, social services. Social services had files labelling 10 year olds as prostitutes! Social worker attended an islamic wedding of a 15 yo to her abuser. Social workers ignored concerns from care homes about the girls being groomed. They told parents their 15 yo is a prostitute and she made a “lifestyle choice”. Police covered up shit, dismissed the girls, threatened the girls. They ignored taxis with young girls in them at night. They ignored missing persons reports. They warned perpetrators. They sometimes arrested the girls complaining. Some fucking raped those girls themselves!! They took money or drugs. They supplied drugs. The magnitude of it , the horrifying details of it, the blatant lack of care , none of it washes with “we didn’t want to be seen as racist”.

It was a massive cover up but not in the way they want you to think. They weren’t victims of the system. They were the fucking system!
