How much would you pay for Mumsnet?

Imagine it Mumsnet was subscription-based either on a monthly/annual basis or a one-time fee to gain access

How much would you be willing to pay?

OP posts:
Lougle · Yesterday 20:08

I wouldn't. There's already a premium option that I don't pay for. I've been here 20 years and I'd stop using it if I had to pay. Mumsnet already get their pound of flesh for selling the content produced here and advertising revenue.

BridalFeastofBethChadruharazzeb · Yesterday 20:09

You know there is a paid option?

HairyToity · Yesterday 20:09

Nope, I'd wean myself off it.

What if there was no free alternative?

mcrlover · Yesterday 20:11

No I wouldn't pay for it - probably another free competitor app would launch and would move over to that

Yet another thread asking questions of Mumsnetters @DasEnglischesWetter

How many articles are you writing?

Arlanymor · Yesterday 20:12

What’s the context? Would It be ad free? What extras would you get?

Soupdragonsanonymous · Yesterday 20:13

I wouldn't.

HobgoblinNorFoulFiend · Yesterday 20:13

Yeah, nope. I’m here far too much, but I’d live without it if it was competing with books, tv, YouTube, audiobooks, podcasts, radio, crocheting, and real life.

Lougle · Yesterday 20:21

If Mumsnet introduced compulsory charging, their page views and their revenue would plummet. They sell their advertising based on page views. It would be completely stupid.

What if there was no free alternative?

No chance.

They make money from us (which is fine)

DoubleShotEspresso · Yesterday 21:16

No . I don’t think this could be justified and would expect the site to be managed more tightly if fees were introduced.

Wolmando · Yesterday 21:19

I wouldn't pay, I don't use it enough anyway for it to be worth it

feellikeanalien · Yesterday 21:20

No. I wouldn't pay. I'm trying to cut down on our expenses as it is. I probably spend too much time on here as it is so it would be a good reason to stop.

AdeleRochester · Yesterday 21:21

I’ve been on MN for 20 years. I wouldn't pay for a subscription.

Tomrrowandtomorrowandtommorrow · Yesterday 21:21

Are you joking? Can't afford it.

Wynter25 · Yesterday 21:21

Zero

Davros · Yesterday 21:24

I do pay for it and happy to do so.

AFPotts · Yesterday 21:25

I'd be glad if they started charging, as I wouldn't pay.

I spend too much time on here. I don't enjoy it except for reading the 'Classics' threads, but I find it compulsive (I still remember the olden days when it was nicer and very funny). So a barrier like that would finally free me!

MissingMeadow · Yesterday 21:30

No way would I pay.

A similar free site would soon pop up.

pavillion1 · Yesterday 21:31

Absolutely nothing .. it’s become very woke

GladysHeeler · Yesterday 21:32
