What's the most WTF assumption you've heard about yourself.

Mine is a hum dinger.
DH is significantly older than me - he is retired and I work PT. We have planned carefully so we were able to retire somewhere sunny. During our 35 years together he was a medium earner and I was the higher earner - his job was flexible for school drop offs/ pick ups ect. We have 2 adult DC and grandchildren.
He has joined a hobby group and last night they had a social evening so I went along.
Random woman - who was the wife of the organiser I found out later- " Well, you've landed on your feet - HIS children and ex wife must hate you " said very loudly in front of a group of people I don't really know.
I did put her straight , but WTF !

People tend to think I’m a massive bitch till they take the time to speak to me. Most people I’m close with tell me they thought I’d be awful before they got to know me. I’m half French and look like the French side of my family, in other words have a massive RBF and look aloof I guess. I’m really not that much of a bitch, unless you catch me on a rough day Wink.

I dont think it is unreasonable in the context of wedding dress shopping. I would imagine more brides want to lose weight before their wedding than don't. Given the lead times with wedding dresses, plus the cost of faff of alterations, they need to get it as close as possible size wise.

Possibly - so ‘are you planning to lose weight’ would be rude but potentially helpful.

But ‘how much’, with the obvious assumption that all brides want to / can / should do so is fcking awful.

People seem to think I'm a poor unemployed chav.

I'm a plain jane, wear cheap supermarket clothes, don't wear makeup, don't have my nails or hair done, so I can see in a way why they might think that I'm poor (although not why they think I'm a chav!).

I remember when I had my second child, we'd moved area and the Health Visitor was a complete fucking bitch to me. Kept telling me that I didn't own our house, that we "must rent". She really looked down her snooty nose at me.

However, my assets and savings are valued at over £1million, and I run 2 successful businesses. Our 4 bedroomed detached house is owned outright. Whenever we buy a car, it's always outright. We don't do leasing etc. We're just sensible with money, very financially responsible and don't waste it on material items.

Oh that made me so annoyed on your behalf! I've met a couple of bitchy HV's before.
