Over my many years on here, there have been many threads about the yumminess of Longley Farm cottage cheese. I am a big fan, and fairly local.

I've seen it in shops around here, but it's gone up in price so much this past year. I was buying it about 18 months ago about £1.15 then it jumped to £1.40 and now it's £1.70-£1.80 I don't buy it quite as often now.

It’s been my favourite for years but is now really expensive due to its rise in popularity!

Morrison's in Beverley has it at the moment, but today there was a whole tray of them with yesterday's 'use by' date on the lids. Scandalous.

I’ve eaten this for decades - my mum used to buy it. And it’s still delicious. No other cottage cheese comes near it. It’s the only one I eat (apart from cheaper ones used in cooking - not wasting LF as an ingredient).

shame it’s now £2.20 for a medium tub.

ive found a green grocers only 20 minutes drive which sells the big tubs. Not sharing the location though. It’s difficult enough to find now - though the little Asda at the bottom of my road sells it. When it was still £1.80 I stocked up!

Dear B&M bargains we no longer do our twice visit to your shop to buy cottage cheese. Which means we also dont spend £15 on other stuff every time. If you are wondering why your profits have gone done. This is why.

Well, I was so happy to find this in our local M&S, and had been grabbing it whenever I saw it. HOWEVER, the past couple of visits I have seen no Langley Farm, and in its place some Arla monstrosity! Worried in case they’ve changed supplier!

Iceland used to sell it, but no longer. I'm assuming that now M&S stock they were the ones who had it disappear from the more plebby shelves of Iceland, B&M etc. rather than B&M et al deciding to no longer stock it.

I only discovered it recently. It's so good!
A greengrocer/deli near me stocks it but it arrives on Thursdays and by Friday afternoon it's all gone.
M&S sometimes have it but it's usually sold out.

Wow. I really never thought others would feel as strongly about LF cottage cheese as I do, it is unfortunately not available a lot of the time.

Always in its place is these god awful watery almost natural yoghurt tasting impersonators and so expensive now. Absolutely awful. Do they not know what cottage cheese is supposed to taste like??!

All things is ok but a bit bitter, Grahams is awful and watery.

ive not been able to get any for weeks here, but I was excited to see that my milkman delivers it now.

No way?! I got some in my delivery on Monday! I buy a pot most weeks…

I was never sure whether or not I’d like it but gave it a go based on the rave reviews I kept seeing on here - my favourite way to eat it is smushed on to a piece of Crosta mollica pain pugliese bread that I’ve toasted and rubbed salt and garlic on. So a layer of cottage cheese on that and then some sliced tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and olive oil on top, bit more salt and devour. Scrumptious 😋

My husband loves cottage cheese. He will eat it by the spoonful.

Oh I will say that I’ve also tested the All Things cottage cheese and find it a good alternative - also on ocado but I’ve definitely seen it in Sainsbury’s and other supermarkets too.

We can only get it from Morrisons when we shop online - Ocado sell it
but its considerably more expensive - it was unavailable for a while so
I guess it must be produced in batches rather than continuously?

Longley Farm double cream is the best in the world, difficult to source
and sold in small pots.

They make a yoghurt too - but never seen that anywhere local to me!

I have seen the yoghurt in some Morrisons, Farm shops and large farm type department stores. Examples are Chatsworth farm shop, Beckworth Emporium Northants, Barnard Castle Morrrisons and Mainsgill Farmshop, huge place near Richmond, Yorkshire

Yes strange how I used to get it in home bargains, heron foods and Iceland and it cost under £1.00. home bargains now don't do it.

Doesn't seem that long ago it was inder £1.00 and then tik too got hold of it and the price zoomed up!

I buy Lidl own now or all things cottage cheese.

Could have been me. Only four pots left and it flies off the shelf so I can’t normally get any. I eat about four in a week.
The best sub is the Arla one in Lidl that’s marked high protein. Still not as good and still sells out quickly.
I live on cottage cheese!

In our town it disappeared from Asda and Home Bargains and then appeared in Waitrose and M&S at quite a price rise. They probably saw these threads and thought we can sell this at a higher price point in different more upmarket stores

I started eating it in the late 1970's as a Uni student - inexpensive and sold in our corner shop. Also the yogurts - lovely. I can still get it from our local greengrocer - haven't found a supermarket cottage cheese to match. Yes, I also eat it straight out of the tub!
Supermarkets need to stock decent cottage cheese and also creamcheese - both gone.
