Longley Farm Cottage Cheese

Over my many years on here, there have been many threads about the yumminess of Longley Farm cottage cheese. I am a big fan, and fairly local.

Anyway, I thought you low fat, high protein fans would like this video of Jimmy Longley being interviewed on Radio Leeds https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1HPVmjazb5/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Take a teaspoon over to the fridge ,
Open fridge door
Open cottage cheese
Dunk spoon in it
Open mouth
Insert spoon
Repeat until tub is empty
Hide evidence.

🤣

We are fairly local and I can definitely get it in Spar and Booths. Not sure about Sainsbury's or Asda.

PauliesWalnuts · 09/09/2026 15:21

I'm N. Mcr just outside the M60 and it's in Asda, Sainsburys and Morrisons here (I don't shop in Tesco). I have it on brown toast with cucumber for breakfast - fresh AND filling :-)

It's still in Morrisons here.
The best yoghurt too- especially Hazlenut ❤️

Agree with hazelnut. There once was chocolate. It was bitter and wonderful.

I have a friend who has a pot for lunch every day. He buys it in slabs direct from the dairy.

Asda have it.

garlictwist · 09/09/2026 16:17

My local Sainsbury’s (which is only a small one) has it. I’m in Leeds though so maybe that’s why.

Blingismything · 09/09/2026 16:27

I saw a lady buying every single pot from the shelf in an M&S last week.

trainedopossum · 09/09/2026 16:31

Now that I think of it in the last couple of months it has disappeared from the three Waitrose and two Morrisons locations I go to regularly, in west London and west Dorset. Waitrose then stocked a brand called All Things (which I hadn’t seen before) instead.

PearlsTeapot · 09/09/2026 17:03

Here in my corner of Scotland it can now only be found in M&S and the shelves are always empty. I have to resist grabbing the lot when I see the chives in stock! I love it so much. I have tried various others and all are disgusting- it's Longley Farm or nothing for me.

I used to buy it at Poundland, was sad when they stopped doing it!

We sell the plain one at my work (garden centre) but it's a whopping £2.75 so I try and get it from M&S instead.

PrancingPanda · 09/09/2026 17:09

I can't spell hazelnut obvs
The shame
🤦🏼‍♀️

Copyalex · 09/09/2026 17:10

Its delicious.
Iceland used to have it on offer, buy 3 for £5 but have now stopped stocking it, which I’m gutted about.
Asda seemed to have replaced it with another brand.
At M&S it’s about £2.20!

AbsintheMakesTheHeartGrowFonder · 09/09/2026 17:12

Sainsbury's has it where I live. I love it too.

I also like All Things Cottage Cheese which is also rich but has a cheesier, sharper, more fermented taste if that's your thing - I think it's probiotic?

I really like them both.

I’m also in Leeds and our Sainsbury’s doesn’t. The big Asda used to but stopped. M&S does not. Morrison’s is the last bastion of Longley Farm cottage cheese around these parts.

they didn’t have the pineapple one last time, so I have the low fat and there’s really no comparison.

CatVester · 09/09/2026 17:20

I used to love this stuff before I became lactose intolerant. It's wonderful!

Didimum · 09/09/2026 17:26

i was so excited to try this after hearing the good reviews, as I love cottage cheese, but it was way too salty.

roycroppersshopper · 09/09/2026 17:28

MrsClattenburg · 09/09/2026 15:13

Asda sell it but it's always out of stock.

Luckily my local greengrocers sell it although if you don't go on a Wednesday (delivery day is a Tuesday) it's sold out.

Cottage cheese with pineapple for me!!!

I love it with pineapple and have been eating it since I was a child 50 odd years ago.

The plain version (full fat) on a jacket spud orgasmic! 😍

TISSHA · 09/09/2026 17:28

I too am a Longley Farm devotee and can no longer find it.

BUT…..

This stuff is immense. I’d say as good as Longley Farm, if not slightly better. Feel very disloyal saying that as I have always gone for Longley but just can’t find it any more.

On offer in Waitrose at the moment too, it is seriously good.

It’s gone from Ocado too <weep>

I can still see it on Ocado, but it has a "new" tag on it.

Fancyyog · 09/09/2026 17:33

I used to live in Lancashire and the one thing I really missed when I moved away was Longley farm yogurts, the vanilla and cherry ones. It's been nearly 20 years now since I've had one 😢

summater · 09/09/2026 17:36

They used to sell it down the Asda but now just Waitrose and M&S where I live

Superhansrantowindsor · 09/09/2026 18:00

Their vanilla yogurt is absolutely amazing. I love their cottage cheese too. The rhubarb yogurt is good too.

Fondmemories · 09/09/2026 18:02

Nowhere near me sells it. I used to love it when I could find somewhere to buy it.

AndSoFinally · 09/09/2026 18:19

You can get it on Amazon via their Morrisons delivery

ExquisitelyDecorating · 09/09/2026 18:25

I used to get it in Iceland but only M&S here now. However All Things Cottage Cheese is very good and I also like Graham's. The main thing with all of them is to avoid the low fat versions (and the pineapple ones). I prefer adding my own chives to buying the pre-chived ones too.
