Has anyone else seen the news about what’s happening in Portsmouth this evening
A boat has arrived in Hampshire and the protesters from Dover are currently in the sea blocking passage with hundreds more on the quay blocking coaches waiting.

Overall numbers overflowing from detention centres put out to hotels, HMOs etc has been falling because processing has been reinstated, and my argument throughout to cut the number of boats is to actually set up an overseas application route. Apply from overseas and they are not here, and it takes the business away from organised crime

I’m guessing something despicable happened to her? I’m deeply sorry if it’s the case but peaceful protest is one thing masked men attacking police is another.

The Hampshire chief was on R4 earlier and made distinction. He wasn’t opposed to peaceful protest and was well versed in policing it. But the masked men (same ones who berate Muslim women?) were violent and attacked a young PC just three days into job. Amongst others.

These thugs are not helping anyone. They are going to waste the judicial system’s time now that could be better spent convicting men who attack women and girls.

I say the same to climate protesters who block roads . I have sympathy to the cause but not to stopping ambulances or people getting to their hospital appointments. There are better and more effective ways.

He left Becuase of two tier policing. Diversity training was to tell him that people from other cultures don’t think the same way we do and we should respect that. I can’t say things he saw and what happened but it made him so depressed and miserable that he was powerless to protect people like his little sister that he couldn’t take it anymore and left. The masked men will do more to endanger them than help them . The occupants of boats need to taken through to humane, systemic and rigorous interview and checks. Lots of officers refuse you know. Then they end up leaving the force.

The issue is it’s hard to do checks with countries with a dangerous state or in conflict. Crimes often aren’t known or recorded, or they’re enabled by the state.

There is a huge problem in the NHS with staff from overseas claiming to have qualifications they don’t. I worked in a care home once work two supposedly registered nurses who clearly knew fuck all and we’re constantly reported. Turns out, they were using someone else’s paperwork. It happens more than you think.

I don’t know if you can be bothered, but you can find out from your LA how many claimed to be children, were put into schools and foster care, given funding via the LA and then it turned out they weren’t children at all. Then it’s all hushed up.

You can do a FOI from the school funding data department of your local LA.

This is where I think the public are right to say this system isn’t working. Labour were atrocious over this and pretty much stonewalled and ostracised her family.

The convicted kidnapper, Daniel Thomas’ masked men are another matter. If they aren’t criminals, why are they masked? They obstructed the police, assaulted a young officer (a mother’s child) three days into job, damaged vehicles and property, obstructed docks and used intimidation. They aren’t good people. Moreover, their actions cost time, money and resources. The judicial system which they will need to answer to is highly stretched and could better be used in bringing men who attack women and girls to justice.

At the end of the day, boat crossings are down, deportation is up, French /British cooperation is being restored. You might not think it’s happening quickly enough, that’s your prerogative to think that but the thugs will make the process slower. So your support for them is misplaced.

For every one of these, I can post more about white British men who rape, injure, kill, control women and girls. They usually live with them and are known to them.

It would prove nothing. Every one woman or girl abused is one too many. Whoever is responsible.

The violence from the masked men yesterday will exacerbate this. They waste time, money, judiciary and police time.

They make illegal entry more likely. They are directly putting women and girls at risk.

If violence is their modus operandi they are just as likely to use it on women and girls.
