Does anyone else keep a sex diary?

Is it just me that keeps a sex diary?! Not in a written account of the sordid details way, but I'll put a little x on any days DH and I have had sex on my calendar.

I mentioned it to a friend recently and she thought it was really bizarre! I had to admit actually it is a little pointless!

It stemmed from when I was planning my pregnancy many years ago, but I cant seem to shake the habit now and like to keep track still 😂

Does anyone else do this or do I stand alone?!

I used to use an app to track my periods, so I did then. My periods are now more on normal so I don’t bother. If I still tracked I would.

Crikey, i wouldn't need a diary, in fact a post it note would be too big 😂

Oh fuck my life.

Is that what the Xs on some days of my late dad’s diaries mean? 🤢😭

How long do people keep these diaries for? After going through 50 odd years of 'paperwork' for my MIL and trying to persuade her to chuck it as she is massively downsizing is a hugely painful experience. She seems to think she might just have a sudden need to know how many times she breastfed her now 54 year old son on a certain day!

I keep all mine, going back to when I started aged around 10 so 50 years' worth, or in reality, a box of 10 times 5 year diaries - it's not that much and fits in a shoe box! I keep little else. I have actually downsized and decluttered and have very sparse amounts of "old stuff", one lever arch file of paperwork, being a lifetime of P60s, paperwork for buying our house, copies of our wills and POAs, birth and marriage certificates, exam certificates, and the last couple of years' worth of bills and bank statements. Other than that, our wedding photo album, our DS's "keepsake" book, and a small bundle of sentimental letters/cards from past boyfriends, best friends and family. All easily fits into a small cupboard! Our biggest volume of "stuff" is photo albums - we have dozens of them from our extensive travels in our 20's, then renovating our first home, then loads of our DS as he was growing up - they take up several shelves and we're mid way through digitising them so we can get rid of the hard copies.

I've always been more into "weeding" rather than hoarding, and have regularly cleared out the clutter and things I know I'll never need again.

My diaries are important to me. I don't look at them often, but sometimes I feel a need to look at specific dates/time periods to make sense of decisions I made and events that happened to me - a kind of self-counselling, which I find helps me enormously. Especially when I'm reminded of something I did, or something that happened to me, and I can't make sense of it, often causing anxiety or sleepness nights etc - If I look back and read my diary, it often makes perfect sense once I remind myself of the events leading up to it etc., and I can then put it behind me again and forget about it. I'd never get rid of my diaries. But nor would I expect DH or DS to keep them after I'm gone - they know that I'm more than happy for them to destroy upon my demise with no emotional need for them to keep them (unless they're really bored and fancy a boring read!!).
