Read another demoralizing article about people STILL thinking he's doing a good job and cares about them. Is it ignorance, mental gymnastics, or right-wing media brainwashing? I keep hoping that it's just a few who are willing to publically state their opinion, and the rest have changed their opinion but don't want to be publically outed. My rose coloured glass are firmly placed but I also recall how I felt leading up to the last election, and after.

Yesterday a GOP interviewee blamed people's negativity on the left wing media. Is there any leftwing mainstream media left? Biden met with a variety of the big instagrammers before he left office, telling them how important they'd be - which is true, but they're not in your face or in your echo chamber unless you want them to be.

And that, children, is why the election system in the USA is in need of reform, in particular the electoral college. Historically that seems to have existed because people couldn't get to the polls in a timely manner, but I don't think that applies any more.

Re the people who still believe the arsewipe that is Trump; as far as I can tell from snippets and people I know who are still in thrall, it’s that the people they are getting their information from are so far gone as to be diametrically opposed to anything remotely resembling the ‘truth’. If Trump has his way, only people who support him will ever get to vote again, and then he'll establish a dictatorship (some would say he's already done that) and unless his detractors can get their act together and stop being polite and believing that the Constitution is fit for purpose in present circumstances, and are able to form a cohesive, effective, opposition, that will be that.

During the 2017 general election, I met a few people who insisted that to vote anything other than conservative would be to betray the will of the people.
