If there was one thing Hitler and the lads got right, it was the Hitler Youth uniforms. They had about eighteen pockets, including a hidden one in one sleeve. Or so I was told by a German of my acquaintance who had no choice about being in the Jugend.

Hugo Boss comes to mind.

Lets BING it....

yup.

News from Cyprus. Yet another unqualified Republican person takes office. I'm sure it can only go well.

And then there's this:

I seem to remember at one point (if not still today) Harrods got very irate about other people using their name, along with the signature green and gold logo. It was ridiculous, for example, I think one of the people they chose to act against was a one man band corner shop which was clearly nothing like the Real Thing (Coke™️).

This was on French radio about a month ago, I think. It is still true.

Oh FFS.

Canada, Iceland, Greenland, Mexico, most of Central America and the entire Caribbean.

He’s got the Caribbean Sea in the wrong place though…

So he wasn’t just sundowning when he kept mentioning Iceland then?

Did you look up to see if he was a political donor ? I did. And I thought it odd that the article you posted did not mention that.

I got this, even with my limited internet.

Trump Nominates Arizona Businessman, Donor for Cyprus Ambassador - The National Herald

"Donald Trump has nominated John Breslow, an Arizona businessman and longtime Republican donor, as the next US ambassador to Cyprus, although he has no experience in Breslow donated heavily to Republican Party causes, including backing Trump’s own campaigns but he still must be approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, with the body having a Republican majority although the full Senate must ratify the choice."

No mention of how much he donated, but we can get that.

Browse Individual contributions | FEC

If that is the same guy of course. Apologies if not. That is an awful lot of money he is donating.

In the UK that would get him into the House of Lords.

Edit to add. Ain't the system rotten.

Thank you for pointing out those figures, @RedTagAlan. It will be interesting to see how the Cypriots play this.

In 1988, Sesame Street mocked a greedy real estate tycoon named Ronald Grump who wanted to bulldoze the neighborhood for luxury towers. Sound familiar?

It's so on the nose I could weep. 1988!

Was that when he rang up George HW Bush and offered himself as the VP pick ?

I wondered where that hair had come from. Nice to see recycling in motion.

And really quite recently I was reading a fantasy book by Mercedes Lackey, published I think early this century some time, in which one of the villains was called Don and was remarkable for having very small hands.

Amongst the replies there is a reference to Clamp Tower in Gremlins 2 and Biff Tanner in Back to the Future 2

The disgusting POS is still out and out lying about being saved by 2 firemen shortly after the 9/11 attack on the WTC in NYC.
https://bsky.app/profile/seedanesti.bsky.social/post/3muzdt2vkj22i

From NYT:
Over the past 25 years, Trump has presented an evolving picture of his role in the aftermath of the attacks. He said that he had seen “an unbelievable mass of steel and, unfortunately, bodies and everything you can imagine.” Today he described how two large firefighters picked him up and took him to safety when he observed an unstable building sometime after the attacks. Again, officials at the scene at the time have said that Trump was not involved in recovery or response operations.

S.E. Danesti (@seedanesti.bsky.social)

Trump claims he was basically lifted out of the rubble on 9/11: "Two fireman, big strong guys, they grabbed me under the arms -- 'got to get our of here!' -- and they literally lifted me up, and they started running with me."
