Sandi Toksvig...I mean she's ok..but personally she itches my tits.

Stephen Fry...tedious. Except as Jeeves or Melchett, which he was obviously born to play. So SF as himself I guess!

Yes, Stephen Fry. He's the stupid person's idea of a clever person: presumably because he's well-spoken. The number of times he's just plain wrong.

He is fine as Melchett though.

Agree with @Screamingabdabzon Miriam Margoloyes. I think she actually says some foul and nasty things but people think she is hilarious because she says “cunt” in a posh voice.

This . I think she is just nasty .

I agree. She annoys me as well although dh finds her entertaining.

CherryRipe1 · 30/08/2026 08:43

Many mentioned on here I agree with but want to add St. Kylie Minogue of the Gold Hotpants. Not buying her cutsie humble image.

Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins- I don’t know which one winds me up the most but I think Mel edges it. Just don’t get their popularity at all.

Same here. Just annoying.

KimWexlersPonyTail · 30/08/2026 08:58

Okay...not going to be popular but binged Clarksons Farm last night...,Kaleb Cooper. I think he is rude, ungrateful, obnoxious. Haven't met anyone yet who doesn't think he is the best thing on the show.

Joanna Lumley is an insufferable townie idiot who feeds foxes on her property and encourages them into urban areas. People won't think she's quite so funny when one of them rips their baby's face off for sport.

Hard agree. She is certainly very unpopular in the Aldershot area in particular after her campaign for the Gurkhas

TheBrunswick · 30/08/2026 09:04

Kate Winslet.
Maureen Lipman.
Peter Kay.
Billy Connolly.
Emma Thompson.
Kenneth Branagh, no you are not Laurence Olivier.
I never liked Sean Connery.

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 30/08/2026 09:06

I don’t dislike David Attenborough, but I find his programmes incredibly boring.

Why shouldn't old musicians perform? I agree not if they can't hit the notes, but if they can it seems ageist to say they shouldn't.

The thread is about NTs, and a lot of musicians are indeed NTs.

Which musicians of big age are hitting the notes? Not Paul Mc, not Cliff, not Rod. I saw an American lady singer over here a few years back and she was dreadful. Could barely walk, could barely sing, but the cost of the night was too much for what it was.

To keep going on tour, charging hair-raising prices and barely moving whilst squeaking out the wrong notes is a No-no. So many were brilliant in their day, but at 80+ they are not the same at all. They couldn’t possibly be. Certain ones are just a shadow of what they were. Hair dye and silly costumes can’t cover everything up!

If it is ageist to say what you see and hear, then ok. I’m mid 60s and I’m certainly not what I was 20, 30, 40 years ago.

purplegrinch · 30/08/2026 08:22

If we are allowed to name dead people then John Lennon. Why do we laud the man- he hit his wife! Is it ok because it was ‘only once’?

Yet another professional Scouser.

He was coined a “Champagne Socialist” by a newspaper many years ago, for wearing a full length real fur coat🤮 and having a white Rolls-Royce whilst droning on about poverty and peace. Didn’t do anything much for either. Treated his poor first wife horribly, and was generally unpleasant. Yuk.

Cheryl Tweedy

Absolute waste of oxygen, but no one thinks she's a national treasure!

EnterQueene · 30/08/2026 07:29

Princess Anne - every one toadies to this self aggrandising woman who wears ridiculous cod military uniforms from the dressing up box when shes never seen active service- or indeed had to do a days real work.

I agree. I have the total cringe every year when I see her at the Cenotaph. Dressing up box is right. And her hair is fucking dreadful

CurlewKate · 30/08/2026 09:21

I’ve gone off Tom Hanks since he absolutely PROMISED me that Trump wouldn’t get in the first time.

GoldTie · 30/08/2026 09:21

Miriam Margoyles. Tedious as fuck and crude with it.
Elton John. Never forgiven him for telling a journalist he hopes she ‘gets cancer of the cunt’
Sandi Toksvig. No particular animosity to her, just don’t enjoy watching her on screen.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 30/08/2026 09:24

Jonathan Ross
Stephen Fry

I though parkinson was creepy even as a child

HoraceCope · 30/08/2026 09:25

Lulu
Nigella Lawson - no i wont be watching Bake off

HoraceCope · 30/08/2026 09:26

Also not keen on Joanna Lumley, apart from when she is Acting. but when she is narrating, i dont like her

HoraceCope · 30/08/2026 09:27

absolutely
Giles Brandrith
always being wheeled out

HoraceCope · 30/08/2026 09:28

Jane379 · 30/08/2026 01:33

Why, out of interest? I love musicals and am a big fan of her singing but I have read stories of her being a mean diva IRL. I know some people find her Radio 4 show annoying, don't personally listen to it so can't judge.

her radio 2 show
last time i happened upon it she closed the show with her own song! I know him so well, i think it was called.
what a big head!
also gone off Sally Traffic, too much laughter

GoldTie · 30/08/2026 09:53

Adding to my list, now I’ve read the thread:

Grayson Perry - creepy fetishist
David Tennant - for his trans / women views

Stephen Graham and Mark Gatiss definitely don’t belong on the list. I like Jonathan Ross, I can quite see how others find him objectionable though.

PinkMagpie · 30/08/2026 07:31

What did she do, if you don’t mind me asking?

She refused to speak to them. Said they were beneath her

i can't believe she actually said that

RaraRachael · 30/08/2026 10:06

I agree about Elaine Paige, especially playing her own music on her show.
Last time I said this I was told that it was her show so why wouldn't she?
I've never heard Michael Ball play his own songs once in all the years I've listened to him.

David Attenborough - I just find his programmes so boring.

Ant and Dec - still wondering what their talent is.

I found Bruce Forsyth a show off.

Definitely agree that singers shouldn't keep going once they're past their best. It's just embarrassing.

PinkMagpie · 30/08/2026 10:07

Lench · 30/08/2026 08:10

He’s not generally liked though is he? I thought most people considered him to be an insufferable twat. If he is liked by most then he would probably be number one on my list, even overtaking David Tennant (which takes some doing in the Cnut-Olympics).

He’s not liked so much anymore, you’re right. At one stage he was held up as some sort of great thinker and voice of reason
