Who else is excited for Autumn!?

I'm so excited for Autumn, all the beautiful colours, the cool breezes, the food, the clothes. This roasting sticky summer has gone on for ever. I love Autumn so much.

I actually am looking forward to autumn this year. We've had a fantastic summer but I feel its time to move on.

I’m a little conflicted…
I love summer and not having to carry coats, jumpers and brollies everywhere.

However I am missing a nice stew and snuggling up to watch a good film.

Perhaps we could arrange for a cooler day once or twice a month and have a downpour at about 2am every other night so we can wake up to the fresh rain smell and keep the reservoirs topped up and the plants watered.

Yes, love it! I feel so much more active in Autumn. I love walking and looking at the beautiful colours of the leaves on the trees. I also like sitting indoors afterwards with a warm drink watching the rain outside, maybe reading a book or doing crafts. Jumpers/ jeans suit me better than Summer clothes. We have lots of birthdays in Autumn too, so lots to look forward to.

Investing in a really warm waterproof coat with a hood and wearing solid boots is a game changer for colder weather. Going outside in all weathers can really help lift your mood.

Me hot choc with mallows and wearing solid colours like light grey etc that I dont have to worry about sweat patches after a sweltering summer, I have more patience for reading in the ber months than I do in summer too.

It's my birthday in October that's another reason why I love autumn

As an aside, I don't understand the MN obsession with hot chocolate, especially with sickly sweet marshmallows.

We are currently on holiday in England (far north), and the changeable weather means we have to take several layers and waterproofs out with us every day.

I have bought some Autumn decor items and planning a batch cook of soups and casseroles - chopped salads can do one!

I have my eye on new lanterns for front porch and hanging lanterns for pergola - cosy cost cosy

I have a new winter coat, I bought after patiently waiting for it to be on sale, hanging in wardrobe ready to wear

Looking forward to walks without melting and Sunday roasts afterwards

Can’t wait! I live for autumn. Golden and red leaves, jumpers and boots, burgundy nails and pumpkin spice anything. I love my seasonal decor and preparing for Halloween. Tis the season of practical magic, hocus pocus, stepmom, when Harry met sally, the lake house and the craft. I come alive at this time of year 🦇

I love the damp and grey too! I actually prefer it to the dazzling colours of the leaves sometimes.

I really feel for those people posting here who suffer so much when summer ends. You should have a thread reviewing SAD lamps and that sort of thing, find the best one, and share individual tips, one thing my friend did to help herself was forgo a summer holiday and book one for each January, mainly because her husband said he was fed up of her incessant whining 🤣. They’re divorced now though. But I’m sure it would be useful for you all to share that kind of coping thingy.

I’ve always loved autumn. Especially early autumn before the clocks change. I love hunting for conkers and the last blackberries, gathering in my apples at the end of September. I love the smell of the woods in autumn. I like the mists and all the spider webs that show up in the dew.

I’m not so keen on late autumn/early winter and November and December are my least favourite months. I hate driving in the dark and going to work and coming home in the dark and it is usually raining - the horrible type of cold rain.

I love from now though; I’ve been tied to the school year so long now it always feels like a new start in September. I don’t dislike summer though, I enjoy being able to get into the garden after work and feeling like I have plenty of time to do things after.

I agree. It would certainly make more sense than trying to tell other people that we're wrong for enjoying autumn!

I can see both sides TBH. After months of grey rainy days and heating bills I start wishing for some sunshine but my tolerance for sunny weather is way lower and I get annoyed with sweating and boiling hell of a lot sooner!

You can still do lots in the rain! It never stops me doing anything. I love the Autumn, all the colours and cosy evenings. Also love autumnal walks-theyre the best! Rather have to cover up from the wind and rain than from the sun and the damage that the sun does to your skin.

Not much beats that does it and not much to ask for. Had the sun in my eyes for months now. Had enough. I’m going to put my autumn wreath on the front door tomorrow although it’s forecast to be 70-odd degrees here, groan. Hoping I can wear my coat to the supermarket. Hate having to take a bag. If I wear a coat I can just use the pockets. Been on Amazon choosing some light-up autumn garlands for the hallway and living room. Not long now folks x

I like the colours of autumn and the (few and far between) sunny days we get through to November.

I can’t stand wearing jumpers, loads of layers, coats, the relentless rain, wind, scarves, pumpkin flavour anything (and the awful ‘autumn’ candles) and hot bloody chocolate. Also hate Christmas.

Happy to see this amazing summer roll into a pretty autumn. Winter can do one.
