Which organisations if any have you decided to never use again for one reason or another?

I'll start with British Gas, awful company, very expensive and customer service is non existent..there is a reason they have lost a few million customers of recent years, close second place is EE for similar reasoning.

OP posts:

Any Heinz products (their tomatoes are a result of slavery)

Cocacola (they have a paramilitary force which oppresses workers that try to campaign for better conditions/higher pay including kidnappings etc)

I will never give either a penny of my money again, and I don’t care who says it won’t make any difference.

Jdonwh · Today 01:10

Ryan air
Virgin media
Both diabolical companies with appalling customer service. Won't go near them

Jdonwh · Today 01:11

Quite a few.

Dyson
Wetherspoons
Roman clothes

Why Roman clothes, out of interest?

O2. I ordered a new phone on Refresh. They took the payment twice and then told me there was no order - despite my having an order number and having paid (twice) Took them 27 days to refund my money, and then they sent me a goodwill payment. Of ten quid.

JJWT · Today 01:16

Ticketmaster. In fact the whole sorry money grabbing ticket industry!

Burred · Today 01:28

British Gas
Hotpoint
Faro Fucking Airport

The Post Office

after the IT scandal. I don’t suppose I’ll be able to avoid them forever but I hate them with a passion

Fairy liquid. I hate their adverts. No other reason.

Boots. They lost my designer glasses on the day before Christmas Eve and refused to help me by rushing through a pair for me to use over the holiday period. Vision Express were brilliant and saved the day ❤. Boots never did find them, initially lied that they had them, then offered me less than half the price of the frame in compensation. And they don’t pay proper tax in the Uk. Dreadful company.

Edited

...and Boots is where the government PRd state paid guaranteed work today for 18-21 year old...with an utterly immoral corporation 🤦‍♀️

Magnet. Way back in the 90s I bought a lean to conservatory off them and they were awful . Claimed in the brochure ‘full technical support’ yada yada but no instructions not even a packing list of parts. When I went back to them they gave me a HAND DRAWN diagram! Totally crap. When I complained to customer service I was told that my stress and missed days of work (waiting in for delivery of missing parts that never arrived) ‘counted for nothing’. Escalated it to the top and eventually got it mostly refunded. Told everyone who would listen how terrible they were. No social media back then unfortunately.

Didn't Magnet go on to treat women workers utterly appallingly ..longest running dispute in UK history or something...they are on my list to avoid too

Looks like it never got better

Ovo Energy. Filed a negative credit rating against me for ‘missed payments’ without ever even sending me a bill. It took me months to resolve, all for a measly £50 odd pounds. Terrible customer service, I’ll never touch them again.

Albert Bartlet allows/ sponsors fox hunting on its land 😡

They also treated my best friend appallingly when they took over a small potato company that she'd worked happily at for years. They wanted her out and did many things that should have been tribunal worthy if she'd had the strength. The one that stood out was insisting that unless she was abroad she had to be on call at all times even when on annual leave. She booked holiday for my wedding a year in advance and was told she had to take work phone into the ceremony and would be disciplined if she didn't answer immediately. She was a transport admin on £25k not the bloody CEO! Arseholes! As it was she left before the wedding in the end.

Next.
It was next door to another shop and I just left my (huge 110th centile) DGC in the same trolley after shopping there because I have shoulder and elbow problems. Hoiking him out was a task..
I was asked to leave the shop! I explained that taking him out of the trolley and carrying him was going to be hard for me.. they had no trollies of there own and I had no buggy.
The prissy manager came over when I was trying to reason. Said it was safety rulz. So I dumped £100 of bedding on the shelf and walked out..
Absolute bonkers.. how was using another shops trolley impacting the safety in Next?

I walk around my local Next with a M&S trolley all the time. Or maybe a Sainsbury one. Nobody bats an eyelid. That managers reasoning was barshit. I would have dumped the bedding on the floor as she would have e got my dander up.

Wetherspoons

Warburtons
Amazon (except that I do have a Kindle)

I'm sure there are more.

Just curious. Why Warburtons

Bosch. I detested my Bosch washing machine, was so glad when it died (after only 5 years).

The company I work for.

Putting customers at risk via allergen contamination and ingredients not being safely stored. Not following trading standards laws and cutting corners in almost every area possible.

I fear for anywhere like this with an allergic child.

Pret I’ve actually had good experiences with over the years. Lots of freebies!

NatWest bank was awful when I was a poor student, likewise Lloyd’s. But I reclaimed both miss-sold loan protection and overdraft charges so didn’t totally lose out.

VODAPHONE…..who are donating free phone sims to illegal boat invaders/migrants!

Not quite the same, but donating to any overseas aid programs. Having lived abroad and seen how NGOs actually spend money it made me vow never to be scammed by them again.

Would be interested to hear more about this!

Oxfam. Because of the sex workers they exploited on their work trips to places they were meant to be doing charitable work.

PetsPalace · Today 03:48

BT, years ago we had a problem with our landline crackling noises etc. We'd already tried obvious things like swapping phones, checking the handsets were ok in other houses and borrowing others but it was always the same. It was impossible to have a proper conversation because either we couldn't hear them over the noises or the call would drop out if it required pressing keys.
The engineer treated me like I was a bloody idiot woman, refused to listen to our phones to hear the problem, made me listen to his phone and agree there wasn't a noise (there wasn't but he'd unscrewed stuff and was plugging it in differently). I can't remember everything because it was over 10 years ago but it's still making me annoyed now just writing it down!
We left it for a few months and then reported it again. This time my male partner was home, he was spoken to properly and there was a fault in the box down the road so fuck you BT and your sexist condescending arsehole engineer.

Virgin, constantly sending us marketing information about signing up and when we did enquire we were told they can't get it to our house. We told them to stop harassing us with "great deals" then but even that didn't stop the junk mail. Several years later our neighbours took out a contract and they dug up in front of our house to put the cables in without telling us so we couldn't get out. I guess we might be able to access their services now but sod them!

John Lewis - i discovered mid bra fitting that their changing rooms had become unisex. I could hear a man talking the other side of the curtain from where i was changing. When i complained in store, i was fobbed off to head office. When i complained to head office, they took weeks to reply and when they finally did, they confused me with another customer who complained about the same thing.

Nestle - I've not bought anything of theirs, or knowingly used any of their products, for over 35 years due to the breast milk scandal.

Lidl - a manager threatened to pour cold water over a homeless man on a december night because he was refusing to move on from the shelter and the bit of warmth the lidl porch gave him. When the manager opened the bottle and started to tip, i gave him the most public mouthful i have ever displayed. I was so cross.

LEGOLAND Windsor. Grandparents wanted to treat my kids to a day out there. It was overcrowded, most rides with a minimum of 45 min wait but even worse rides kept breaking and closing meaning several times we queued in vain and had to move on to queue somewhere else after waiting for over an hour.
Food and drink massively overpriced, a fiver for a coffee or 6.25 for a carton of chips but hardly any space to sit if you brought a picnic or food from a stand. We ended up perching on a narrow concrete wall crammed in with others, my youngest promptly dropped her food over the side onto the dirty scrubland below and my parents were uncomfortable until a family took pity on them and let them cram in with them on a bench.
Eldest in tears at the end of the day as only managed to go on one rollercoaster after looking at the app and hoping to go on 3. From 10am until 6pm we only managed to go on 4 rides each, even with splitting off into smaller groups, due to queues and closures. An event that seemed dedicated to torturing its customers. If you are thinking it could be fun, please save yourselves this misery and choose somewhere else!!

Vodaphone, LV car insurance and Ryanair. All horrific.

P&O ferries for the way they treated their staff.
Plenty more ways to cross the channel with my dog
