Thanks for the new thread @MewithME that went quickly! We’re quite the experts at chatting about not a lot 😬

danglethedingle · 22/08/2026 15:02

Is this one open for business now? If not, I am placemarking. I don't want to lose you all. I think this is the only consistently nice thread on the whole site.

TeaAndStrumpets · 22/08/2026 15:58

Doing my bit to fill the old thread and i've been HIDDEN! Huh.

TeaAndStrumpets · 22/08/2026 16:16

Phew I'm back! That was a bit odd.

In other news, I'm wearing a cardigan!

TeaAndStrumpets · 22/08/2026 16:40

Could someone draw the curtains and lock the door on the old thread?

Agree!

I've closed the old thread with a view of one of my cats dozing, here's the other one to say hello over here... We're a very sleepy household.

@TeaAndStrumpets did you say a banned word that MN don’t like until it’s approved. That happened to me once

@martha79 love your cats!

It's a mystery. I did mention another thread so perhaps it was that?

I fell asleep watching Ludwig last night so I will rewatch before I go on to episode 3!

It was mentioning G u m m I e s that did it last time. Can't remember why but MN are funny about it 🤔

I have survived my visitors. Back to bed now. 😊

Morning all!

It was so cold last night I got up and put my dressing gown on. There will be an argument about getting out the winter duvet soon. It is perfect right now for DH but my feet started buzzing and tingling yesterday, so I'm in winter mode!

Glad you survived your visitors @MewithME . I've had one lot cancel due to a contagious toddler but nature abhors a vacuum so we've got a different lot today. DH is out this morning so I need to do a quick bathroom clean but the rest is a mess. I remember last time we moved the children were young so I always said to visitors "Scuse the mess we've just moved in" That excuse lasted for months!

Swanhilde · 23/08/2026 08:08

Morning! Place marking for now but I am here and reading. We're away with my parents, which is lovely but exhausting. My mum does like to fill every silence 😆

Normality will be resumed once we are back home and the kettle will be refilled @MewithME

Have a peaceful Sunday all 💕

TeaAndStrumpets · 23/08/2026 08:26

Welcome back @Swanhilde it's fairly calm and silent here!

martha79 · 23/08/2026 09:08

Hi @Swanhilde, hope you have a good trip, look forward to our virtual cuppas when you're back 😀

Was chilly last night, and woken up at 4am by above cat making sick noises ON THE MATTRESS. Managed to get her onto the floor but then had to clean up after her. Sleepy and distinctly achy this morning, still got my friend visiting but not sure we'll be building any furniture (I also know she's only got a couple of hours, and I'm wary of being left with a half-built bed if it takes a while!).

If any of you need some comfy joggers for autumn lounging, there's a sale on some of my favourites for £10 each https://www.sundaizclothing.co.uk/collections/pants - the fleece ones are very soft and warm!

Thanks for the recommendation. My holy grail!

One of the best Christmas presents I ever gave DD2 and husband (at her request) was a small upholstery cleaner. Their elderly greyhound had very dodgy bowels and started to have little accidents overnight, always on the rug, never on a hard floor! This machine was great, think it was a Bissel.

Hope Dcat is OK now!

TeaAndStrumpets · 23/08/2026 11:09

I've cleaned the bathroom as far as I can, the dusty skirting boards can wait, but the toilet is sparkling. Usually DH does it but not to my standards. I have deployed my crevice brush! Brilliant for er...crevices.

TodayIsabetterone · 23/08/2026 12:05

Morning all
I haven’t cried in pain yet today unlike yesterday where I cried on and off all day so I’m calling that a result 🤞

DH is putting furniture back in DDs room and everything needs a good wipe down plus the windows cleaning. I can’t help at all which is frustrating but perhaps the bits I did do the other day were too much for my affected arm and DH has given me strict instructions to rest.

DD is home tonight so will be lovely to hear all about her trip. Her room looks lovely so she’ll be very happy and able to empty all the stuff she packed into boxes. There was a lot of stuff for the charity shop so hopefully it will look a lot less cluttered.

Well done on the cleaning @TeaAndStrumpets its very satisfying whrn you don’t often manage it.

Such A beautiful cat @martha79 but I’m sure throwing up at 3 am wasn’t appreciated!

Enjoy your trip @Swanhilde

Hi, I’m new to this thread. Just came across it whilst idly scrolling MN. I have a number of chronic conditions but the main one is rheumatoid arthritis.

Having an RA flare so feeling a bit down as we have a big family BBQ today, which has been in the diary for ages and I was so looking forward to. But it’s a bit of a car journey and a late night so have encouraged DH to go alone as I just can’t face it physically.

Hope I can join in with your chatter and news 😀.
