Firstly I appreciate this is not the same for the rest of the country

but we’ve had it horrific here (London). I’ve never felt so shit in my life as I have for the last 10 weeks. I’ve spent between £250-350 a month on electricity (portable air conditioners). I’ve felt anxious, headachy, it’s FUCKED with my peri menopause (brain fog, no words, cognitive decline). I’ve felt tearful and as if it would go on forever. There are moments where I’ve thought I can’t take another moment of this. My sleep is proper fucked.

level I can. Air conditioners only when necessary, above 26 inside (DH has long Covid so literally throws up in heat). His asthma is exacerbated. The dogs have had the shittest summer. I’ve had a couple of rescues that can’t go out about 22 degrees. I reckon they’ve been walked briefly 3 times a week. We deliberately went away on a cheap caravan holiday twice just so they could smile. There were endless days I couldn’t work as too hot in my home office and clients cancelled.

I cannot wait til Saturday.

I hope for solidarity from others. I want to wear a fucking hoodie again. I’ve spent every day sat around in my underwear inside for vast stretches of the day. This is not sexy.

In what temperature have you been running up hills 😳? I'm struggling to walk comfortably.

Same here. I'm in Essex and just walking around the house leaves me feeling as though l need a nap after.

Also Essex. I have not been running much, but instead going out for a walk about 10 or 11pm. It's been cooler, but on the days when there's been no breeze I get home dripping! Nice.

I think the petrichor was braxton hicks in my case, no sign of any rain over night. It's been bearable from the early hours. Another one sick of picky bits. Great for the diet I guess, but who is craving roasts, soups and crumbles?

It’s 30 degrees again here today 😂 I mean I didn’t believe it was ending anyway. But it is still exceptionally hot where I am and is forecast to be still very hot until Wednesday. When even then it isn’t forecast to drop by much at all.

The house was the hottest it's been all summer last night. 5 fans on the go.

The wooden floors felt like we had underfloor heating on.

Agree. Warm today too. However, I sense a change in the light and the air and the trees are rustling. I smell thunder although not forecast. Surrey.

FWIW, 28 years ago I was induced. Result zippo. At 10.30pm my waters broke spontaneously, dd was born 1hr 20 minutes later at 11.52pm. The only baby born in the hospital that day. At 5am there was a long and tremendous electric storm. The midwife put her head round at 7.30 and said they were mega busy, shifts not ending because 7 babies had been born by 6.30am, with more on their way. She said it was a known phenomena.

We’ve been walking the dog at 10pm and it’s been quite pleasant.

22 where i am today and cloudy, although it still feels so humid to me, but then I am peri menopausal and on medication that messes up temperature regulation

My Braxton hicks were metaphorical in the hope of rain rather than a baby... I hope so anyway. That would be a turn up for the books 😅

I’m in SE London and it’s 25 degrees. I’ve just managed my 10000 steps and I reckon at almost midday it’s the latest I’ve managed to be out. FEELS warmer than 25 though, to me it feels like 27/28 because of the humidity.

Still so much better than the 38 in my garden yesterday 🤦‍♀️

27 here on the south coast - again - humidity 54%. It feels so hot again. Sick and tired of it all - they said it would be cooler today, didn't they?

I was hoping someone might pitch up to tell me I hadn't dreamt the rain, but maybe I did. I have to say though, I think my dream rain would be more extravagant than the paltry amount I saw/heard last night.

Well I started cooking dinner at 7am this morning whilst the sun hadn't reached full heat because I just knew I wouldn't be able to achieve anything later. I was sobbing at 11:30 last night because there still wasn't any relief from the heat and my chronic hives flared up and I was struggling to breathe and just couldn't get comfortable

I've spent a fortune on Uber this summer whilst simultaneously feeling hypocritical because I know their workers aren't properly paid and someone else is sweating to death preparing food for my convenience.

And my relatively new phone has a bar of light down the front display. I looked it up and it said it's due to overheating and I will need to take it for repair. So the technology hasn't been developed with heatwaves in mind, quite understandably though my laptop is fine.

It's definitely cooler here (midlands) today. I've got all the windows open in an attempt to get the house cooler. Thermostat in the lounge says 26.2C and it must be at least 10C hotter upstairs.
I don't mind it so much in the day, but at night, it's intolerable.

I'm peri menopausal on multiple tablets that don't work well with heat and I have felt like a furnace for the last two months.
Bring on the autumn!

It was properly chilly here this morning. Hoodie and socks weather. Our weather forecast. Still no rain though.

Has anyone else found they have little to no energy this summer? I find it hard to function day to day and have been extra exhausted this last week.

I just want some, any, energy back. I'm permanently knackered and it's leaving me feeling so low because I have zero enthusiasm for anything (other than sleeping).
