FT

Crapto billionaire Christopher Harborne was granted a lengthy pause in a legal battle because of severe illness, a period in which he gave £12mn to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK, court documents show

One of the comments

👀As well as giving £15mn to #Reform and £5mn to #Farage, #Harborne has supported the effort of rightwing activists to settle on the #ChagosIslands and block the #UK deal to hand over sovereignty to #Mauritius👀

Who remembers Ernest "I got better from dementia" Saunders ?

E2A: I guess they are interested in the Chagos Islands after they lost Epstein island. Would explain the Donalds interest.

Interesting that Jane's speculation about AW has been deleted, after reporting I assume.

I decided to check whether this meant the entire AW thread(s) had been deleted. Nope. Still there. Speculating wildly.

Ah, yes, but it was the wrong sort of speculation.

I can't remember what @SerendipityJane 's post said, but apparently it was also in the Sun according to @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

Hey lurkers 👋 hopefully you will report the rampant speculation elsewhere on MN.

DuncinToffee · Yesterday 12:40

Jane made it clear that those were her musings, some people lack comprehension skills.

Maybe we have our own moderator, my musings not speculation 🤔

Our special monitor, if they exist, certainly seems to apply different standards to this thread.

SerendipityJane · Yesterday 12:49

If my post was deleted, it will because someone got a friend to read it to them.

Slowly, I'm guessing.

MNHQ moderation explicitly takes account of the people who wouldn't score more than 100 on a regular IQ test. And it's our job to remember that when we post.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · Yesterday 13:05

@SerendipityJane's post was just about it being a burglary gone wrong, which had already been suggested in the Sun.

I think we have lots of very dedicated monitors. 🤪

And there is a whole thread of speculation still running. But that is OK.

Piggywaspushed · Yesterday 13:57

Well, this is why I noticed. I remembered what Jane's post said so went to check i f the whole other threads had gone. Nope. On that thread I found almost word for word Jane's post , still standing. If MN agree the one on here was speculation, then they need to zap entire threads of speculation.

SerendipityJane · Yesterday 14:13

I won't be the speculation that triggered the MNHQ hammer. It will be the insinuation about the intelligence of the people for whom such a possibility was inconvenient. Basically I must have offended some thick racists. (I leave it to the reader to consider whether that is a tautology ... maybe one for pedants corner ?)

E2A: Yes.If you are racist - thick or not - then you can report this comment to MNHQ in your whiny little racist voice and get me banned.

Piggywaspushed · Yesterday 14:18

You didn't say that in that deleted post, though. You said it was a burglary gone wrong.

Most obvious solution in the absence of more information.

However knowing myself, I may have snuck a sly dig into the prose. Like I said, I am well aware that there are folk in real life - or even on MN - who would struggle to accept that because they are thick as pigshit, and said so.

End of the day, it's their site:their rules.

Piggywaspushed · Yesterday 14:39

No, you didn't!

Anyway, here is an article about A Good Thing where there are heartfelt words of praise for Keir Starmer and Andy Burnham . One for both fan clubs.

Tempted to put a £5 bet on Count Binface to win Clacton. Only in cr*pto.

Yes, it’s all very irresponsible during a police investigation. And after the police requested that people didn’t speculate on SM. MNHQ should delete but obviously they won’t.

BIossomtoes · Yesterday 14:42

I can’t believe that thread’s still going. Particularly given the deletion here. You apparently have double standards, Ms Lurker.

Oh I will, Piggy, I will 😎

MNHQ don't have a rule book. They moderate by feel. Don't ask how I know.

SerendipityJane · Yesterday 14:55

Fascinating run through possible major tax changes.

For me the takeaway fact is the rather obvious but rarely voiced fact that anything you tax gets smaller because it is taxed.

Except land - which can't go anywhere.

So it's safer to be surrounded by Muslim immigrants than patriotic Englanders ?
