I think this is a good idea. I have never applied for a job that didn't specify at least a salary range. Hiding it smacks of planned exploitation.

Wow. The Department for Education has just published new projections which estimate that the number of pupils in state-funded schools in England will plummet by more than 9% by 2031 amid falling birth rates

And yet this issue receives probably 1,000th of the coverage the immigration debate receives

Its such a huge problem - particularly in London. Very little coverage though.

Applications for the Clacton by election closes at 4pm tomorrow. I predict that Farage will put out a statement out at 3.55 pulling out of the election.

In one of those strange coincidences, I am currently reading a book and within a few pages, all those murdered women I cited above have been mentioned, making almost exactly the same point.

I read somewhere the other day that the vast majority of murder mysteries have women being killed.

Inconveniently, for Farage, the UK system doesn't allow you to "run" for PM without getting elected as an MP. (Unless we look a t a future where Reform win an outright majority and make Lord Farage Prime Minister).

So to maintain the whole "Nigels Next" bandwagon he rather needs to remain an MP. That's how he can pull in all that lovely lolly that makes it worth his while.

So, no, he won't pull out.

I’m well aware that he can’t become PM without being an MP first. I’m just not convinced he wants to stay in Parliament forever. He’ll be onto some new money-making scheme in America, grifting with the right wing.

He reacted so appallingly badly (hissy fit) to the level of scrutiny he’s received over the last few weeks - he's in for a lot more if he ever becomes PM. (And if he returns as an MP for that matter). That level of attention isn’t going away.

But who knows - we’ll see.

Too late for this one, I am broken! My back has "gone" and I can't do anything at the moment. Means my DH is stuck too as he can't even go and sit in the garden without me helping him and I can't. But we are scroungers of course according to that "Burnham is going to ruin my life" thread.

Yusuf was banging on yesterday about what he'll do to protect MPs when he is Home Sec. How is he going to do that when his own party won't even select him to run as a candidate?

DS2 isn't too physically taxing when he's not in running in front of cars mode but the obsessive chatter drives me nuts. He got "stuck" on one particular bus, this morning and must have repeated the same statement about it about 50 times, no matter how much I tried to distract him. It too threatening to leave the supermarket before we got to the biscuit aisle to break the cycle 😵‍💫

Never mind. DH will be home in 3 hours and with either completely ignore me or talk at me about his own stuff.

On the falling numbers in London schools, my dgd in year one her class has 21 pupils dgd year five has 24 in the class the new reception class for September is now one class entry instead of two it’s a very good school so it’s not as though parents avoiding it, very worrying as not yet heard what is happening with teachers/support staff that won’t have a class plus the knock on effect throughout the school.

I suspect it will be kinds words and coronets, rather than a change to the 50p an hour wage.

I reckon that with a TV appearance coming up, AW wanted to make sure she was prepared. We already know she was an atypical Reformista as she has a shred of integrity and wasn't a rabble rousing grifter. In the course of this, she realised that Farages £5,000,000 was not only as innocent as he protests, but definitely linked to something dodgy. Certainly not something she would have been prepared to lie about in any interview.

Being Christian, and not believing that people like Nigel Farage and Robert Jenrick are real she voiced her concerns in the naive belief it would prompt Nigel to "do the decent thing".

When it became clear that as a woman of principle, she would trigger even more scrutiny of Farage, Something had to done.

I did have a social worker tell me that, if I had a carer's assessment, I could go on things like spa days. I tried to keep my smirk an inward one.

It's funny how "invaluable" has become an irregular noun meaning either "we can't pay you enough" or "we can't pay you anything" depending on context.

I’m so sorry you’re having such a tough time @PickAChew and @TemperanceWest. It’s really bloody hard being a carer. My friend who was a carer for her bloke had a hard time, I don’t think I could be as selfless as she was.

Strangely I heard Alastair Campbell say exactly the same thing about Farage this morning @Cheguevarahamster. He too thinks he’ll pull out at the last moment because he couldn’t face the chance of being beaten by Binface.
