The other possibility is that he knows that both houses have the 2/3rd votes to override his veto so it would become law no matter what he does or doesn't do so is trying to make it sound as if he actually has 'power' in this situation.

I think the airport in Palm Beach Florida has a way to go before it is any sort of competition for Denver, Dallas Texas, Fort Worth Texas, Washington Dulles in Virginia, George Bush Intercontinental in Texas, or Orlando, as regards size; and it might have to sweat a bit to catch up with Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Dubai, Tokyo, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, O'Hare International Airport, and of course Heathrow, in volume of passengers.

President Donald Trump said he has “left instructions” for the United States to respond with overwhelming military force if Iran were to succeed in assassinating him.

“The only thing is, I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before,” he added.

In February 2025, Trump similarly said he’d left instructions if Iran were to assassinate him. “I’ve left instructions if they do it, they get obliterated, there won’t be anything left,” he said during a visit from Israel’s prime minister."

The denial bit about Israel in that ? Yeah, we know by now what his denials mean.

If he is dead, presumably he is no longer the Commander in Chief, so him "leaving instructions" is meaningless, since whoever takes over that position might not actually agree that starting a war of the kind he would like would be a] appropriate, or b] likely to be successful, or c] possible given the amount of firepower Trump has already squandered on Iran to no great effect.
