Lammy taking PMQs today as Starmer is at NATO summit

His resignation can be refused

https://bsky.app/profile/russellengland.bsky.social/post/3mq4igcdg422y

So, there is a precedent for vetoing an MP's resignation

Viscount Chelsea (Henry Cadogan) applied for the Chiltern Hundreds in 1842

The Chancellor (Goulburn) refused because, get this, Cadogan wanted to resign to obstruct an investigation for bribery

Ed Davey keeping up the pressure has written to Rachel Reeves urging her not to accept Farage's resignation

cardibach · 08/07/2026 11:10

I can’t decide whether refusing the resignation or making him fight the Count would be more pleasing.

Nick Robinson finally pointing out the obvious

BBC radio 4 Today, Nick Robinson roasts Yusuf & Farage

“You say this is all about standing up to the establishment.

“You’re a multi-millionaire. You made your money selling luxury helicopter charters and rare wines to the super-wealthy.

Obviously I wouldn't dare inflict factual history on any other MN threads

It is so hilarious. Farage has made an absolute idiot of himself. Yesterday, before everyone stood down, one of his supporters on here said it was an "inspired" move. Umm...

I saw Tice making chicken noises on GB News. They really are showing themselves up.

I just missed Tice doing that! I mean I’m glad really but wta!! Deeply unfashionable I suppose.

I mean tbf he also does a mean (very mean!) cameo for about 50 quid too …

SerendipityJane · 08/07/2026 11:28

Maybe it will be a re run of Bell v. Hamilton ?

Count Binface should pay for one ....

BIossomtoes · 08/07/2026 12:03

I see Badenoch is (almost) endorsing Binface.

Brilliant - maybe Binface’s supporters could also request these cameos for him - like a present - wishing him luck in Clacton …

cardibach · 08/07/2026 12:11

Watching PMQs. Lammy v Cleverly.
Cleverly is on dodgy ground with prisons and early releases. We all know one of the reasons Sunak went when he did because there was about to be a situation with no more places in prison at all.
Edit: which Lammy has just pointed out. Good for him.

Speaking of Clacton, it seems that due to the summer recess this by-election will have to wait. Which puts pressure on Farage to remain to "campaign" in Clacton over summer.

All to fight a bin.

I felt mean writing that. I have no animosity to the good Count (yes, it's the count versus the cunt, surely a thread title ?). I have no reason to doubt he is of impeccable integrity.

Farage is privileged to have such a worthwhile adversary/

Am I reading this thread right? Tice made chicken noises on Radio 4?

Farage has resigned to delay/avoid an investigation in to a bung from an overseas 'investor' and the Deputy Chairman of Reform responds with animal noises?

TemperanceWest · 08/07/2026 12:52

No. It was on GB News I think.

Notonthestairs · 08/07/2026 12:55

Ah. That actually makes more sense. Playground stuff.

DuncinToffee · 08/07/2026 13:02

It was on LBC
