Agree but the reality is NCA don't have anywhere near enough staff and huge back-logs already - and detailed investigations always take a long time

Something needs to happen to change that but I don't know what

They are - like all agencies that are supposed to keep things legal - underfunded by design. Remember how many cases they had to not look into under the Tories. But I admit I rather exaggerated for lame comic effect.

That said. now that money laundering is openly being discussed, one finds ones mind encompassing other tales of money laundering, where assorted family members have proved useful as components in the operation.

It is the UK's lead agency against organised crime, human and drug trafficking, weapons and cybercrime, including economic crime that goes across regional and international borders, but it can be tasked to investigate any crime.

Wikipedia says it employs 6264 Smile but might as well be 3 all thing considered

A Reform UK spokesman said: "Reform UK will move the writ tomorrow morning, and we are proposing a by-election on 6 August."

Reform has to ask for a writ to be issued to trigger a by-election process, which has to be approved by MPs. A by-election would take place between 21 and 27 working days after that.

It is not clear yet whether the council, who make the formal arrangements, would be able to hold the contest on that date.

Am I hearing rumours that the local authority are struggling to find proof or residence needed for the write to be moved ? (I'm not, but it would be too delicious not to briefly contemplate 😀)

I hope MPs decide their approval can wait until September. I especially hope that enough MPs do not attend to make it troublesome.

Who wants to hear Farage slamming MPs for not turning up in parliament ?

IDK but August doesn't seem a great time for the LA to recruit temporary staff to run the by-election - people away on holiday/ childcare issues during the school holidays?

Surely September would be better
