Burnham did an AMA on Redditt. Badenoch joined Reddit simply so she could plop this. God woman, grow up! You could have at least asked a proper question.

I didn't realise she had to create an account to post that. At least she kept her own name

Badenoch's a nonentity to me. I take nothing that she says seriously. One of the most inept leaders of the opposition and she has lots of contenders. Who remembers Hague?

Agree with you about Badenoch but remember Hague because close family member dated him when they were both at school

Ooh juicy gossip 😄

I think the point was to use her own name. She wouldnt have got the 'credit' otherwise.

She'll be hooked on CasualUK and WhatsWrongWithYourCat in no time.

Notonthestairs · 04/07/2026 20:18

I don't know why my post has been hidden - it was a link to a Fraser Nelson column in the Times!

Notonthestairs · 04/07/2026 20:20

Oh, I guess it was because of the reference to Farage's prioritisation of producing crapto de-regulation policies rather than anything on education or health etc.

There is also this one from the Times

"Hi Andy, Kemi here. Whilst you’re answering softball questions on Reddit, I’ve been in Yorkshire answering questions from the press," Badenoch wrote.
"You’re going to be Prime Minister soon so it’s time to start acting like one," Badenoch continued.
"Come out from hiding, face a proper press conference and submit yourself to scrutiny and some tough questions."
In response, Burnham responded: "Fair challenge, Kemi - but don’t forget it’s only two weeks since I faced questions from 74,000 members of the public in Makerfield!"

Class!

As my kids would say, she's irrelevant.

Notonthestairs · 04/07/2026 21:20

Yes, thank you 🙏

I like the idea that someone was dumb enough to make a bust of Farage.

But also -

Reform’s crypto bill gives intricate details of the tax cuts and protections that interested financiers would enjoy under Farage. On his very first day in No 10, it says, the Treasury would be ordered to drop any rival crypto schemes. But we see no similar urgency or detail on energy, education or tax cuts for the people Reform claims to represent. The party has no spokesperson for defence or foreign affairs. This imbalance, while odd, certainly reflects Reform’s donations: most of them now come from crapto billionaires.

Notonthestairs · 04/07/2026 21:22

Oh for heavens sake 🙄 - I was just quoting.

thanks blossom anyway! 🙏

Some people on MN get very offended when you call Badenoch irrelevant.

Oh dear. I wonder if they have any evidence to suggest she's relevant.

They don't. They think she's straight talking because she's rude.

Rude and not very smart. Or likeable.

I agree. My crystal ball suggests that Farage will be lying low for some time now.

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2026 09:53

Yes, noticeable that the Sunday Times advertises it’s investigation telephone number half way down.
I rather think they expect there will be more to come.

Imagine changing your name to try to avoid the authorities.

Clarifies why Farage is so invested in de-regulating crapto. That was Fraser Nelson’s point that Reform have policies on deregulation of crapto but not on education - their priorities are showing.

Which is why these grifters shouldn’t be given the keys to No 10.

I don’t know why Farage keeps claiming he wasn’t involved in politics before announcing his candidacy, he owned Reform, that puts him involved.

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2026 10:03

Thanks for the share token @BIossomtoes

That is quite the read, to put it midly.

Where does Cottrell's money come from

Jenrick's defence this morning is calling the Sunday Times a 'labour supporting paper'
