It's too hot for clothes- what are you wearing?

So what do you wear to try and keep cool in this weather? On Tuesday we went out to an evening rugby game so I wore shorts, a vest and flip flops. Yesterday though I didn't go out i again wore shorts and a vest. Not leaving the house today, I couldn't face clothes so after my nice cool shower I just put on clean pyjamas. Worried about tomorrow as we are doing a 5 hour drive up to Scotland.

That was me at about 10:30 last night as I watered the garden.=, very thin vest top and shorts, no bra. I keep a stair-robe, clothes I can put on if I need to go out, with a knee awaiting replacement I like to avoid the stairs!

Wearing a maxi sundress with a purple zebra stripe pattern on which is now seven years old! It was from Bon Marche, so not everyone’s first choice of shop, but it does have some hidden gems.

I agree with you on the linen trousers - I do have one pair which are very thin fabric but I have others which are a lot thicker than you would want this weather.

im wearing shorts and a vest top, no bra. Luckily I don’t have to go anywhere. I originally put a dress on this morning, very loose and strappy but I even that around my legs seemed too hot

Cotton dress. It’s 38 degrees where I am (not uk) and it’s fine. Drink plenty of water, carry spare in the car in case of stopping also don’t let fuel go too low in case you are stuck in traffic

I'm in a strappy midi dress and no bra. Sitting at my desk in my home office with a fan directed up my legs, wondering when I can legitimately sack off work and go and sit in the paddling pool.

Extra short PJ shorts that cover about the same as a pair of boxers but are looser, and a very thin floaty top that's oversized. I've been doing that thing we used to do as kids in the 90s where you bunch up the fabric at the front and push it up under the neck to turn it into a crop top.

I'm parked in front of a fan with no intention of moving until the heatwave is over.

This is me. Underwear is my preferred outfit at home even if it’s slightly warm lol. I can do everything in it without the annoyance of clothes lol.

I've been in full PPE all day. Thick safety trousers, long sleeved polyester top (because I work with cementitious materials), heavy boots, and a hardhat with ear muffs when out the truck. 😳

Air con packed in on Monday and was only able to get it fixed this afternoon. It's been mega hot! 30-36 degrees in the truck wearing full safety gear.

A floaty leopard midi skirt and a Nirvana t shirt with bare legs and low Converse. I had to put on clothes I was happy to be seen in as Ds moved out of his uni halls today so I’ve been to help him carry all of his stuff down from the third floor, no lift! 🥵
Tomorrow I shall be wfh in thin cotton pyjamas, luckily they look like plain black t shirt and harem pants so safe for unexpected Teams calls and door answering

Thin long white dress and flip flops.Took the dog to a local dog friendly shopping mall (fully air con!)for a walk as she we were both bored and hot.She got lots of attention and we both kept cool.

I'm in a plain f&f maroon dress

girls out in swimming costumes and men in only shorts. They will be hotter because their skin will burn.

I hate seeing girls out in tiny shorts and bikini tops or strappy vests with bare shoulders. How do they not end up with serious sunburn?

The lads are usually more sensibly dressed, in knee length shorts and t shirts.

Something like the shalwar kameez is possibly the most sensible clothing for this weather - loose and light but covered up.

My DH is working from home atm. Takes his top off and just wears shorts. Had to remind his to put his top back on before his teams call this afternoon with his colleagues!

Shorts and a bikini top. I'm at home though! I have a white shirt to throw on over the top if I need to go outside or if anyone comes to the door.

I'm not surprised! A lot of the ground workers I've seen today were only wearing shorts and boots. However, the HS2 sites were really strict. Long sleeves all round.

I’m in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 it is warm but it’s fine , we’re not on fire 🔥 it’s manageable.
I am wearing a loose cotton t shirt , a cotton skirt that’s just above the ankle and flip flops .

Mostly just my bikini!
Was at the gym this morning in shorts and tshirt, then went to the outdoor pool - basically a bikini since then besides a playsuit to drive home in, got the dc and drove to a picnic and paddle spot (back to the bikini) then drove home again, just been in the garden since then.
about to go and have a shower and a hair wash and not sure what I’ll put on after. Some kind of light loose thing though.

yesterday I wore muslin pyjama bottoms and a vest top, today I am wearing a cotton dress I got from East a few years back, bare arms, bare legs,bare feet. My hay fever is wrecking me so I am not leaving the house.
