It's too hot for clothes- what are you wearing?

So what do you wear to try and keep cool in this weather? On Tuesday we went out to an evening rugby game so I wore shorts, a vest and flip flops. Yesterday though I didn't go out i again wore shorts and a vest. Not leaving the house today, I couldn't face clothes so after my nice cool shower I just put on clean pyjamas. Worried about tomorrow as we are doing a 5 hour drive up to Scotland.

The t-shirt has been discarded now and I’m lying in front of a fan, it’s so annoying as I have a lot of chores I need to do but I can’t face them in the heat!

A kaftan. Long and lose but dressed enough to be able to answer the door.

Forgot all about this. I going to search through my stuff to find mine

Netcurtainnelly · 25/06/2026 14:34

Shorts and t shirt for going on. Can't understand seeing people in jeans aren't they uncomfortable.

I'm in my birthday suit, but it needs ironing. 😜

This made me 😃

MinnieMountain · 25/06/2026 14:41

I stupidly went out for a lunchtime walk, so I spent 30 minutes in my pants before I started work again.
Now in a knee length linen dress.

dede1956 · 25/06/2026 15:21

Daughter and myself, hair to waist feel like chopping it all off. Bloody Sainsburys have cancelled order today due to weather. Other countries manage, now have to go out to buy hairy dog food.Bugger

A cotton dress, I find I need enough fabric to stop my skin touching any of my other skin. I always find sleeping in hot weather easier with very thin loose long pjs than with skimpy pjs because I can’t stand the feeling of my leg on my other leg or my arm touching my belly.

Garfieldloveslasagnepie · 25/06/2026 15:27

I’ve got a gypsy skirt pulled up like a strapless dress. No bra

Kim5678 · 25/06/2026 15:30

Just a sports bra/crop top and Step One boxers here. I slip on a long skirt with slit for going out. The boxers absorb sweat and prevent rubbing as they have some sort of silky fabric on the in-between legs part. People seem very overdressed here, a surprising number in jeans and tshirts even though Met Office says it’s currently 35°. The car drive will be fine, windows closed with air con on. I would also put something light coloured over the seat overnight so it’s not providing too much under-bum heating

Meadowfinch · 25/06/2026 15:32

I'm in the office, dressed in tailored linen shorts, a short sleeve linen top and sandals. I'm clean, tidy, fragrant and cool enough to carry on working.

Anyone who has a problem with that can take it up with my manager, who is working from home !! 😁

henlake7 · 25/06/2026 15:33

indoors-crop top and boxer pj bottoms
outside- loose cotton/linen trousers and either an oversized tee or a vest top (is hot enough I have my parasol as well as I dont like any part of me in the sun if I can help it!).

wishingonastar101 · 25/06/2026 15:34

loose thia style trousers and a cotton shirt. all this bear flesh is unnecessary - girls out in swimming costumes and men in only shorts. They will be hotter because their skin will burn.

SuitcaseAndSecrets · 25/06/2026 15:35

An elasticated bandeau midi dress.. nothing else.. keeps my boob's up.

SilenceInside · 25/06/2026 15:36

I'm WFH but have occasional teams calls during the day so need to be dressed presentably enough for those. I'm wearing muslin cheesecloth type trousers and a short sleeve lightweight jersey top that's smart enough to be seen on screen. Thankfully I am remaining non-sweaty so far.

Theraininspainishere · 25/06/2026 15:38

I’m naked at home and in the garden.
The second I step through the door, clothes are off. Wrap a sarong round me if I need to open the door, as I did this morning when the builders over the road knocked to discuss something.

Out, either shorts and a loose vest top if working, or floaty cotton dress if not.

Springersrock · 25/06/2026 15:38

I’m at work today so wearing a jumpsuit from Fat Face and sandals - I’m not melting

I actually can’t stand it when my limbs touch themselves when I’m hot so prefer trousers

Oldraver · 25/06/2026 15:40

I'm currently in a bikini as I've just got out the paddling pool, I don't usually like swimwear due to the fabric but can't be arsed to change yet

I have a couple of linen shift dresses (from Asda but they haven't done any for the last two years. They are so cool and wafty. I've also got one off Amazon.

I've got a couple of scrappy dreses, though one is actually a nighty which are good for wafting around

marriednotdead · 25/06/2026 15:49

Chub rub shorts, a bra and an umbrella cotton beach dress. Debating wearing a similar combo to work tomorrow.

Giggorata · 25/06/2026 15:51

Short sleeved cotton maxi dress, that's all. I'm at home, obvs.

if I had to go out I'd add a light bra and some chub rubs, or else a long slip.

Aye lovely and toasty today in Scotland. 28 degrees across the Central belt. Back to 17 and rain next week. Wear your shorts and vest in car. Blast air con. Think it's thunder storms tomorrow 🥺

I'm in my birthday suit, but it needs ironing. 😜

Mine too but it would need the linen setting and it’s much to hot for that

MenopauseSucks · 25/06/2026 16:03

A pair of cotton boxer shorts. Luckily I don’t have to see anyone or go anywhere today!

OtherS · 25/06/2026 16:04

Long, loose bandeau dress. Am home, though have workmen. Realised I don't have any chafing cream left though, so wore trousers when I went out earlier - I'm so sticky, walking far could be quite painful!

Mydogisagentleman · 25/06/2026 16:16

Am in Spain.
Thin long dress and no underwear

catslovehairties · 25/06/2026 16:20

Shorts and a loose fitting vest top.
