I hope you and your DS are ok x

Thanks.

DS has been fine since his collapse in Feb but has deteriorated physically a bit - maybe related but he does have a degenerative condition so we’ll never know!

I have a rather large lump in my colon which is being investigated .

Its never ending and politics being as it is atm I just don’t have the headspace to keep up!

I'm an NEU member . How may I be of assistance?

Me too. Retired section.

DuncinToffee · 24/06/2026 16:12

I just made a potato salad and now I am trying to cool down with an ice lolly

Or is it lolly ice 🤔

itsgettingweird · 24/06/2026 16:13

I’d like to add some tax.

This made me laugh so hard when I saw it 🤣

It's very boring 😞 in the LiW threads. I get that. I totally understand and have empathy for you @derxa

Is there anything we can do to keep you there?

She doesn't really get much/any attention there - whereas here.............

So there;s clearly a proven way to deter her

BIWI · 24/06/2026 16:14

Yes I must remember that.

For clarity I meant I was sorry about your update itsgettingweird, not the picture although I am pretty sorry about that too 😁

Bullandbear · 24/06/2026 16:15

Thinking about it, my view is that Burnham is high on his own supply. The King of the North schtick goes down well in Wigan, but the rest of the UK will very quickly resent massive taxes being raised on the south and flushed down a Lancastrian toilet.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is very hard to distinguish whether it is progression of HSP or something else. My DH went from being still just about able to manage the stairs to not being able to after having Covid.

Now you have your own health worries on top, it is just not bloody fair, is it? 💐

(BTW, I have had a name change in case you are confused. I am the poster with the DH who has HSP).

In amongst all the squabbling you have real problems to deal with with. All the best 💐

How does voting intention change, when party leaders are named with Burnham as hypothetical Labour leader.
Labour go from 7pts behind Reform, to 1pts ahead gaining 6pts
Reform, Greens, Lib Dems also lose votes
The Tories gain one point.
Combined right/left share barely changes.

Ahhhh!!!! Hello again under your new name!

yes - it’s the oddest condition. How’s your DH managing the heat? DS cannot regulate his body temp well but has found a cold towel on his abdomen works 🤷‍♀️🤣

He’s had a few episodes recently where he’s got up in the morning and gone to walk across the room and his leg has spasmed to 90° before he’s even got there. He usually gets a few hours before it happens!

36° here 🥵🥵🥵🥵🤣

I don’t mind the heat - I live in Tenerife for years and this temperature is normal. However carpets and curtains were NOT a household feature so it was at least cool inside 😉

I’ve taken to sitting with a cold towel over my feet in the absence of a swimming pool!

You definitely should!🤣

A mere 33c here.

DuncinToffee · 24/06/2026 16:38

Met Office

Provisionally, today is now the warmest June day on record in the UK, with 35.8 °C recorded at Wiggonholt, West Sussex

around 34 here

We don't know what Burnham is going to do. He isn't even PM yet. If all the Burnham doomsayers are so, so sure of his plans, can they please provide me with some Lottery numbers? All this negative speculation is wearying. Me, I'm going to see what pans out and then form an opinion based on that.

Edited

He is OK with the heat, but I think maybe it does set off the spasms a bit!

BIWI · 24/06/2026 16:39

I agree @pointythings

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/06/2026 16:40

Well it's apparently been 37 degrees at both Heathrow and Windsor this afternoon and as I'm between them I claim it.
It's fecking hot anyway - whatever the thermometer says.

pointythings · 24/06/2026 16:42

It's about 32 here, the fan and a north facing living room are holding up.

I'm so sorry things are tough, @itsgettingweird .
